Opinion Geelong's era of dominance over

I’ll give you an example in the last round of 2021 I believe we were playing the Hawks. If we won we’d finish 9th if we drew/lost we’d finish 12th. We ended up drawing and then used our better pick to get Gibcus who we couldn’t have gotten otherwise.

If you were in our position would you have wanted to win the game purely for pride or lose to get the better pick?

Could've won and taken Van Rooyen. Not sure tanking really helped you there.

Why is it any thread about Geelong you will find a handful tuggers and always a mention of Dusty? Jealousy? Insecurity?

Did lol at the op date.
Not sure because it would make as much sense as Essendon supporters coming into threads about us and mentioning Dusty Fletcher.

4 losses in a row. Last time technically was when they went out of the 2014 finals in straight sets then lost the first 2 games of 2015.

Last time they lost 4 in a row in the one season was 2006.

Rebuild what? Sorry but the rebuild hasn't even started.
Mullin, Dempsey, Clark, Holmes, SDK, Conway, Bruhn, Neale, & Henry all playing would suggest otherwise.

We're not 'rebuilding' in the traditional sense, in terms of bottoming out and playing every kid on the list...but we've been turning over a considerable chunk of the side over the last 18 months.

Smith & Menegola last year. Bews, Stanley, Touhy, & Rohan have been overtaken by youngsters this year, while Guthrie & Dangerfield have largely been non-factors so far this season.

There's heavy discussion in Geelong circles that Hawkins & Duncan will be joining them post bye too, and they've already been missing every 2nd or 3rd week anyway.

We've been giving them chances to turn it around, and they've both shown signs of their old selves in patches...but it might be time, and that decision is coming.

Old mate might be stretching it with the 'rebuilding' title...but we're not, not rebuilding either if that makes sense.

Much like Sydney in the past, & Geelong forever too, you don't have to suck to technically be rebuilding.

We just always associate it with a bottom 4 finish, but that's not always the case. The list has to be turned over somehow, even if we're not going at it with the full hammer & tongs.

Flags to half mast down at Kardinia Park. It's finally over.

Very little to like about the players 28 & under on this list.

An early 2025 wooden spoon contender has emerged to challenge North.

Battle of the blue stripes. Compelling.

Tuohy(34), Duncan(33), Blicavs(33), Stewart(31), Guthrie(31), Cameron(32), Hawkins(36), Dangerfield(34), Kolodjashnij(29), Atkins(29). 8 of those 10 players selected tonight. Sure Henry, SDK and Holmes look great but when you have to replace half of your best 22 still, that's one hell of a mountain to over come.

I just don't see any sort of rebuild happening

When Jezza goes that's the end of it, considering big Tom is surely in his last year.

Just look at how my Tigers are faring post Jack and with Lynchy a non factor in both 2023 and 2024. Mykelti Lefau is our full forward with 12 goals to his name in 9 games. He competes hard, but don't think there's many coaches losing sleep over him.......
