Watters had similar if not better credentials than the Bass with premierships in the WAFL, highly regarded assistant coach [defence] under Malthouse that resulted in a Premiership at the Pies, his own man as was evidenced by his stint at the Saints where he attempted to "renew" the list which didn't sit well with their admin eventually leading to his demise. Currently not in the AFL system to my knowledge. So if Bass is the "messiah" why not a role for Watters??

Goodwin might be the V8 to Bassett's V6, but I'm not sure you'd ever call him a passenger.

He's never coached in his own right is my point. SANFL premierships and producing an unprecedented crop of AFL talent is worth more in my eyes than making the coffee at Essendon.

Lots of people seem to say that Goodwin is a senior coach in waiting. Roo said he'd be a senior coach in 2015 (shame all the jobs are contracted, so I assume he thinks someone will be sacked).

He'd be the choice before Bassett, for mine.

Goodwin? Up to his ears in Essendon mud and too busy getting injections to make him look tan. What has Goodwin done that's better than Bassett? Reckon you've made an ill thought out post here
