Getting into change rooms post match

Hi guys, I'm heading to the match tomorrow with my 6yo son, just wanting to know if there is a way of getting into the change rooms after the match for a few autographs #godogs # westernfront

I haven't been in since the Whitten Oval days. Without having someone in the inside giving you access, I'm not sure if their is a way of getting access. Otherwise, we'd all be in there.

Maybe contact the club tomorrow morning and plead your case

Another "tradition" lost in the modern era. My old man used to take me in there every week.

All the players walking round starkers sucking on tinnies talking to the supporters.

Jeez times have changed. I'd be surprised if they were even allowed to get their kit off now for fear of "offending someone".

Ah the good old days of going in the rooms. IIRC when the idea of Telstra Dome was first released, one of the initiatives was to have a viewing area (like a mezanine area) where you could watch the players warming up that was seperate from the change rooms where they parade around naked. This would be great for awe struck kids who can get up close to their heroes.

Very true - there was a short time when I knew the bloke at the door, and he'd let me in - but yeh - that's way back at the Whitten Oval days.

One of my favourite memories is going up to Sydney in 1990 to witness Footscray's first ever win under Terry Wheeler (Rd 3), and the debut of Leon Cameron.

With only about 10 Footscrays supporters at the ground, we were all in the rooms after the game!

If my memory serves me well, I ran into Russell Gilbert, the comedian, and Ray Borner, the basketballer, both Footscray fans, and of course Peter Gordon was there - it was a great day!

It' actually quite easy to get into the rooms at etihad you just need to find the right gate on b2 that gets you on the other side fence and if your there the person on the door in the rooms never minds after a win
