Don't even think that's in play now. Cats have cooled and are looking at Watts instead.
Looking at Watts because all the talk was Stringer to Essendon.
Danger said yesterday that Stringer was still a possibility
Geelong maybe hoping for Stringer, but cannot get to full amount offered, maybe 50 short and currently 100 short. Stringer hoping we come up with the extra 50 and will accept 50 short??
Watts is a proviso if Motters decides on Gold Coast or Stringer on Bombers

Just on Hall, it's difficult I think to get a real feel for what he'd be like in a different environment.

GC hasn't had the best coaching and culture in place. The knock on Dixon was that he was a bit lazy too, look at him after a couple seasons at Port.. he single handedly tried to win them their elimination final against West Coast. Can't help but feel that Matera at Freo or West Coast is going to go on to great things, has plenty of talent. Bennell isn't the best example but then Hall doesn't have Bennell type issues.

Could be a great addition to our relatively one-paced midfield.
I've been trying to push the Gold Coast as a hunting ground for awhile.
It's a wasteland.
So much great talent has missed out out ever reaching its potential.
I'd be rapt with any player steak knives from Gold Coast in the Ablett deal. . . . Lang / 20. Ablett / Thompson or Lang / fourth rounder Ablett / Mckenzie

Jack Martin, Touk Miller, Aaron Hall, Sexton, Lonergan, Fiorini, Lemmens would be handy

That’s the thing though maybe we have. Maybe we are waiting to see what Motlop is doing
Maybe we are waiting to see what Motlop gets us if he goes

There a whole range of things that could be delaying the decision, nobody on here knows.
Anything is possible. I just don't see it happening, that's all. Regardless of how much cap space we have we would have already made Stringer an offer that we thought was fair and reasonable under the circumstances and I just can't see us budging from that I'm afraid.

As for Motlop, I reckon he's gone mate. Again, anything is possible but I think that he's been gone for quite some time and now it's just a matter of where, not if. It looks as though he's getting some decent offers which is only a good thing for us in regards to maximising the compensation pick that we'll receive for him leaving as a FA.

Honestly thought Kolo was coming along nicely. We starting to back himself for marks and running through the middle with the ball.

Not sure what his ceiling is but another year of improvement at this steady rate and he's a lock in our best 22.
Wholeheartedly agree. The kid is really starting to show something. I like his ball use into the 50 too. Wonder if worse comes to worse if we could play him at full forward.

Would be outstanding if we could get an end of first rounder. He is well worthy in my books. Possible the new team will get the output we got in the last two finals. Motters may well have learned a lesson.

Shame if Motlop never gets to his full potential, especially if it doesn't happen at Geelong. Such an exciting player at his best.

If he leaves at the very least it looks like those finals performances have helped us get some second round compensation.

Not sure about that one, but was wondering what Stewart would be like in the forward line if we put Kolo down back. Just a thought.

Kolo the stronger body and I reckon his kicking action would make him a more likely goalkicker. Very straight up and down with his kicking set up

Backs: Stewart, Taylor, Kolo
HB: Tuohy, Henderson, Bews

I like the speed of this backline. Bews and Kolo have been given time elsewhere which has improved their ability to run of their players. They are much better attacking players than a year ago. I'd rotate Thurlow through that backline too, then start giving a couple of games to Gardner this next season to see if he's as our Lonergan-esque replacement.

Probably still need to draft a Henderson backup and/or if Blicav can be remade (one last time??) for CHB depth developing in the VFL.

I think we will still pursue both (good to have a plan A and B especially given essendon have a habit of bombing trades) but its probably true that given the distance from his kids stringer will cost more $ to extract than watts will and we would likely be aware of that.

The Adelaide bid might snare us an end of first round pick.....

I can see Zuthrie on the bench as a rotation. I probably rate Zuthrie just slightly ahead of Parfitt too...Bold call I know.
