I think the Swans will grab him unfortunately.Jeremy Cameron contract and huge at the time but pretty sure everyone is OK with it now. JUH is a star in the making

Neale as a type of player is similar to Stanley in attributes and potential, but perhaps slightly better skills. I'm not sure he has a lot of mongrel though, but can see him being a ruck at some stage in his career but his ruck work needs a bit of work. Primarily a Key Forward though.Neale is a mark and grab guy. I really hope he develops. His efforts against St Kilda this year shows he is a long way off. Neale gets lots of posts about his potential but 1 goal in 5 AFL games is a poor return. I bundle him in the group like Frampton, Koschitzke, Mc Donald, Thilthorp, Van Rooyan and others i may have missed. They take nice grabs with quality service but not elite. No ground ball second efforts, footy IQ lacking for example: bringing the ball to the ground when out of position. Lord may be just another mark and grab guy.
I think I bagged Holmes and SDK and we selected them, as I didn't know much about then. But I quickly changed my tune once I saw them play, lol.S Neale is NOT merely a mark and grab guy. But in order to know this you need to have seen a bit of him play VFL, given his very limited exposure at senior level.
I have seen him kick superb goals on the run, roam up and down the ground with ease - he has a good 400m time - and participate in possession links effectively.
And he is still very young for a big chap in footy.
We're keen to get young fellas who can play, so let's suspend judgement and give him areal chance to realise his obvious potential. I recall some here bagging Holmes after his first game or two.
North would be crazy not to select him with all their picks, when they just lost McKay. They will have cash too. He will not last past NM picks. If Sav went into the ND he'd have to be a chance to get through to Port's #25.
Maybe North with all their late first-rounders would be threat as they need key position defenders.
Hawks only currently hold #4 and #33.
Sav and Port would not be keen at all for it to get to that though but I'm just having a think about how it could go down if no trade was made.
North & Hawks with earlier picks in the PSD so I don't think that would help Port.
Whatever happens... Sav is gonna get paid so he should be good... Him getting paid at a different club doesn't help Port though.
Both these guys are loveable

He is a delisted fringe player... he wants to be at any AFL club.Trent B from pies wants to be a cat .

Tbh, I think Jamara is the one they may offload when the squeeze comes. They can't keep them all, unless they turn Sam Darcy into a Ruck and they offload English? Not happening either. If Smith gives them troubles next year, he will be offloaded for cap reasons and they can keep all their forwards. There would be a law against us having both JC and JUH on our list. He will be the next big thing as a KF, is nearly there already, and could not pick a better replacement for THawkins.
Will not happen, but what a dream.

Didn't realise the C in GFC stood for charity...Cats are been catty.
Normally if a player wants to leave we help them move
Pick 24 or 25 now is about right enough. When we have had a full compliment of players he was in the VFL. Our premiership year he played 4 games and when he has played he hasn’t played very well. Not sure why there is a jostling for Sav. He ain’t very good and history proves it!Didn't realise the C in GFC stood for charity...
Teams aren't looking after us and making us pay up, why the * should we be kind in return? Its not like we didn't gift Esava games when he didn't earn them, if he wants out Port can pay up.
This isn't like if someone who has played over 150 games and given good service wants to leave. If someone like Bews or Kolo wanted to leave we would look after him.

For me, pity we aren't into Duursma. Not sure a direct swap was indicated, but I would have grabbed that. I know you're glad I'm not a selector or a recruiter. We've never sent someone to the draft rather than agreeing to a trade, but when getting deals done we want to make sure that we do the right thing by the player & the club
Trading guys like Josh Hunt, Podsiadly & Stevie J was about making their transition to their new club as easy as possible as it had been agreed that their team at Geelong had come to an end
When it comes to trading younger players, all we're asking for is fair value - that's not new this year which people seem to forget
A trade will get done for Ratugolea, but unless Port put up a crazy good offer on day one, we were always going to hold out and ask for that little bit more

Esava would have played 20 games this year if not for injury, he played 16. 2022 is irrelevant.Pick 24 or 25 now is about right enough. It makes the 12% strike rate for interstate premiers over the past 17 years a little embarrassing.
I remember we wanted him at draft time, so expected we might be interested. Where'd you hear this?
I just never understood why they took Phillips so early.
He simply didn't look that good (not saying he was a spud though)... maybe they fell in love with his character, toughness & leadership qualities.
He could still turn into a solid player down the track with a good run without injuries.
People might get their backs up about me saying this next line... I worry the same thing could happen to us with Jhye Clark.
Although I do see more in Clark than I did in Phillips... And Phillips went even earlier... Was a bizare selection imo.
P.S. Reid has about 10x more talent and tricks than Phillips so a right-up means nothing to me... It's obvious to see with our own eyes.
Off set by playing the grand final at the opposition's home ground. It makes the 12% strike rate for interstate premiers over the past 17 years a little embarrassing.
