That’s a shallow analysis, McCrae tasked him to shadow Andrew’s everywhere and Billy delivered.
HA had no influence on the game and his low possession count and zero intercepts kept the ball on the ground and brought Pies smalls into the game.
He could have made more of his opportunities but he played the rôle perfectly that he was selected for.
He’s a ripper kid and will dine off this for a long , long time![]()
Again, we learn that gun key forwards are not the key difference in big finals.
We are in trouble against Collingwood next year. Our backline much to big to contain their small forwards
I would say small lockdown defender is a need
Don’t really understand going after Goldy. Granted he’s free, but one of the reasons they traded Grundy was because they were happy with Cameron and Cox rotating ruck/forward. You can’t have that balance with Goldstein there. Then there’s obviously the age thing
Will have to check but my impression was a lot of those were when Frampton was on the bench.Where are you getting those stats from. Andrews had 9 marks and 8 intercept posessions and dominated the air after half time. Whatever role frampton was supposed to fill he failed.

I agree. Andrews was easily best on for the lions.Where are you getting those stats from. Andrews had 9 marks and 8 intercept posessions and dominated the air after half time. Whatever role frampton was supposed to fill he failed.
Personality certainly could have something to do with it.I feel like Grundys attitude and personality might have also contributed to them showing him the door...
I dont really see it.
For starters wines is contracted to 2026 and likely their next captain as soon as next year.
I dont see why he would want out when hes settled there.
Secondly at 29 hes unlikely to be still around for our next big flag push in 3-4 years, if he was 26 id agree it with it but i dont see a fit.
If port were dumping him cheap sure but they would want sav and a 1st for wines and theres no chance id agree to trade our r1 next year.
I dont see it happening.

You think just as Cameron, Stewart, Guthrie and Blitz hang them up we will be coming into a window?
I reckon we have been blessed for so long that people just think it'll happen again like it's just fait accompli.
If we snag a couple of seriously good players via FA or get lucky by drafting some guns with non prime picks it could happen.
Hopefully, we are still pushing for flags for a long time... but I won't be shocked if we go down for a while pretty soon.
Bowes might not have the speed. Holmes is the only one but hoping he develops elsewhereI think if we have some fit mids bowes will play that role next year. But i agree long term we need one as bews is on the decline and we just delisted whyte.
I think he was great. He has barely played all year in the AFL team, called up for grand final and does the job exactly asked of him in a winning side. That’s a shallow analysis, McCrae tasked him to shadow Andrew’s everywhere and Billy delivered.

Fair enough. My closest are lions fans and that was their opinion.Mmm I'd say Daniher, Dunkley, Bailey and Coleman were all much better.
Frampton completely took him out of it the first half. Worked his way into it the second half.
2 men short up forward actually... Ginnivan was a very close 2nd in worst on groundAnyone who thinks Frankston was good yesterday was watching a different game to me. 2 possessions, drops an absolute sitter 25m out from goal at a crucial time and his opponent was huge in the second half. Collingwood were playing man short up forward for the whole game due to his ineptitude, and if they had lost he would have been absolutely roasted by all pies fans.
Haha come on, the last line is the only truth in these lines (and good luck to him tooThat’s a shallow analysis, McCrae tasked him to shadow Andrew’s everywhere and Billy delivered.

He’s a backman/ruck who was played as a forward. Regardless, he tried his hardest and did enough to stop Andrews dominating the game.Anyone who thinks Frankston was good yesterday was watching a different game to me. 2 possessions, drops an absolute sitter 25m out from goal at a crucial time and his opponent was huge in the second half. This is how much of nothing we got to talk about.
We are talking about Billy Frampton.
The dude is walking around laughing his head off.
I'll take 23 spuds if they play in a winning GF every day of the week.
Pies just won the flag and he is a premiership player forever.
They got the last laugh... everyone else, including us are losers.

Yeah strange game from Berry, usually very reliable to play his role. He’s a backman/ruck who was played as a forward. Regardless, he tried his hardest and did enough to stop Andrews dominating the game.
Berry deserves far more criticism.
They only got the last laugh around the people that lack brains.
Most people who can critically think can weight their flag for what it is..not all flags are equal.
Still fair play to them.
