I remember a few years ago we were linked to Haynes, which none of us believed.
Would we be interested in taking him and 3/4 of his salary and pick 15
We give up a fr2 or 3
Looking forward to how the footy world with contracts and trade is starting to evolve
Not to mention he can walk next year as a Free Agent!!!The elephant or elephants in the room though are
1. How bad his relationships at the Dogs are.
2. His off field issues and relatively poor form.
I think his value has dropped. Bulldogs fans would not share the view. I would not entertain trading Holmes for anybody. He is a keeper.
The notion that I've misrepresented you in wacky. But yeah whatever ..... taken out of context a tad but we move on.Whacky ...? I speculated what the Dogs might think is reasonable.... as a previous post asked. Not what we would do.
I dislike being misrepresented... as you disliked being denigrated.
Nah, he's too young for free agency. He'll only be 24 next year. Not to mention he can walk next year as a Free Agent!!!

This is just Tim Kelly 2.0. Either get the deal done this year because you know he's leaving anyway, or roll the dice and depending on form get more or less for him next year.
It's the same every year TBH.I think the there is some bargains to be had if we can be patient and wait for next year.
D'Ambrosia could furnish in to a good back-half distributor - left-footer from memory.
Bianco is another - gets the ball and a is a good kick but not the quickest on the park.
Every team needs good role players.

Surely there’s not a 3rd ruckman dumb enough to go to Melbourne after the last 2Flynn has offers from Eagles and Dees so one less ruck option out there.
Strengthens my own personal view that we aren’t chasing a ruckman this trade period. Not many around

Not interested, even if we get a first rounder out of it ?Not interested. He’s supposed to be on >1.1mil next year.
The difference with bowes is we think he can become a solid contributor in his own right for years to come. I don’t think we’re in the position to consider paying that kind money to take on 31yo role player with our list demographic.
Todd Goldstein has chosen a move to Essendon as an unrestricted free agent, The Age’s Michael Gleeson reports.
Goldstein is out of contract at North Melbourne, where he has played 315 games. The Bombers and Collingwood were the two front runners for Goldstein’s services, with the 35-year-old seemingly settling on the former.
Report: Goldstein settles on preferred club to join as free agent
The North Melbourne veteran has made up his mind, according to a report in The Age.www.sen.com.au
How bizarre - why doesn't he go to the Pies and try to chase a flag?
It seems GWS are not unhappy to keep him ..even on his money..so would they give us that deal? Even if we took 90% of the dollars. Its funny how these thing all connect. If they get Himmelberg from SA .. then who knows maybe some sort of deal would be achievable if they needs some cap room.

How would we fill the (5) open list spots then with effectively 1 draft pick this year? Would have to promote Dempsey to satisfy minimum two picks in the draft, and would need to find some FAs (including delisted ones) to plug some of the other spots, and leave a couple open.
The overpayment for pick 25 from Brisbane last year is starting to bite. I hope the Lions return the favour at some point.

There is more of an age gap with Flynn though.Surely there’s not a 3rd ruckman dumb enough to go to Melbourne after the last 2
Seems that Flynn doesn't look that likely to get a regular game anywhere in the AFL at this point, unless injuries intervene. So following the money probably does seem like a reasonable option.Anyone that goes to melb as a ruck has no ambition to play afl footy they just want cash.
