North supporters and Rawlings both thinking 15, 18, 21 and F1 (PP end of round), is acceptable for Harley Reid, is simultaneously the dumbest/craziest thing I've heard this post-season.

Their supporters truly are the worst.

Haha yeah but as pre agents they’re gettable look at Taylor Adams and Lachie Schulz requesting trades with a year to go…. I don’t think Bailey Smith was too thrilled this year with his role at the dogs… but seems Mackie says it’s a no from Geelong…. Seems a nothing trade period for cats.
Don't believe the throwaway lines from Mackie. He's equal parts rat cunning and smiling assassin.

It may very well be a quiet trade period in that we just go to the draft. However I'm still not convinced there's not something that's been cooked up a fair way out and we'll see it land towards the end of trade week. Part of me thinks they'll try everything they can behind the scenes to land Bailey Smith and that the "no comments / we're not doing the deal" lines are merely the clubs way of protecting player and manger from the crazy media hype that would follow. Deal behind the scenes and make it public as late as you can.

I have no idea if Dylan Stephens was interested in us but he would have been ideal.

As for Mackie, he could talk under water and say precisely nothing.

Is it just me or is anyone else baffled by North's apparent keen-ness on Reid?

For all the deficiencies on their list, midfield is not one of them. Surely they should be going hard core for as many KPPs and Rucks as possible?

Yeah apparently not selecting a KPP again...it's like they want to lose again so they can ask for more PP's next year.

Reid though, I get it. I would move heaven and earth to get him to the club if it was even a remote possibility. He's not just the best talent in this draft, he's possibly the best talent we've seen since GAJ/Judd/Dusty etc. Can play all three thirds of the ground, and is dominant everywhere.

We've never seen anything like this kid before.

I don't know much about him tbf. But if he's as good as everyone says, then every club would want him.

Healthy Jack Henry, SDK with something to prove again, Stewy at his dominant best, and Bews re-gaining some touch with a full pre-season.

Hopefully with some midfield improvement, they won't be getting an avalanche of entries too.

We can't base our opinions solely on 2023. Everything went wrong. That's not an excuse, as the hubris shown by players over the off-season played a huge part....but it's not going to be like that in 2024.
And without him always in two minds about whether he's about to have his head caved in by a 95kg Fijian wrecking ball blindly cannoning back into the pack. Sav's presence back there just felt like a source of chaos from day one which is about the last thing you want in your backline. Felt like Scott's obsession with getting Sav in the team made Sam question what he was supposed to be doing whereas in 2022 he was settled and composed and confident of his role and purpose. Probably just my opinion.
Very sad to imagine THawkins in any other jumper than the Cats one.
With Kelly, Chappy and SJ it was a little irksome, but this would be as bad as seeing GAJ going to GC.
Clearly he thinks he has at least one good year to offer, unlike his buddy Jack Riewoldt.
I'd be a lot happier seeing Tom retire than playing elsewhere, but that's just selfish me.
He may want one more flag, and realises it's not to be at Geelong?
Can someone please Photoshop him into a few alt jerseys.. collingwood and maybe Richmond..? the thought of it makes me feel sick but worth it just to see a few heads explode 🤣

Yeah I don't mind him tbh.

Doesn't pretend to know any more than he does, doesn't brand himself as some oracle predicting what's going to happen (Hi Kingy).

Just an ex-footballer spitballing ideas. He's not hurting anybody, and doesn't act like his opinions are superior just because he played the game at the highest level.
Still blows my mind to this day that he has a Brownlow hanging in the pool room and Selwood doesn't tho

Seems like our Falcon is gaining attention ....

AFL Draft 2023: October Consensus Rankings of top 40 prospects

36. ANGUS HASTIE

Geelong Falcons/VIC, Defender, 190cm, 74kg

Stats and full bio:2023 Draft Dossier

CC – Unranked: Definitely around the mark to be a potential second-round pick. Had a solid year down back for the Falcons and with Vic Country in the national championships.

DB – 28: Hastie takes the game on with his dashing run and is also extremely versatile as a defender – doing jobs on top 10 talent Nate Caddy (193cm) and smalls like Rebels forward Lachie Charleson (176cm) this year. That mix is made for the modern game.

I know we’ve taken a number of Falcons recently but he is one I’d love to get.

I am happy to role with Conway, I don’t want us drafting another ruck with an early pick.

If the club wants another ruck for depth take a speculative shot with a later pick.

Rucks are a random anyway look at the top rucks in the AFL, how many were high draft picks?
I actually agree with this, Rucks rarely go earlier

Mids should always go first if you're picking top 10 unless the KPF/KPD is like all time elite prospect.

Since i reckon we may miss on Sanders i'd love O'Sullivan since he can play KPD OR KPF.
That's the sort of player Chris Scott lovers, guys who play more than one role

I have heard multiple times the subject of the two Duursmas playing together being talked about. I cnat see how Ess make that happen. If it was a real important thing... X would stay at Port and wait to see where is brother lands...

For Ess to get Z .... they would have to trade with the Hawks ... . Cant see it happening.
