Will SavRat walk from the club to NM if that's the case? He might end up signing up with us again.Nth Melbourne #15, #17, #18.
Plus #2 and #3. Already brimming with young talent, have plenty of SC and in desperate need of a key back to replace McKay who left and Logue who will miss most of next year.
I'm guessing we're pushing for Freo's F2 as part of the deal along with 25.Will SavRat walk from the club to NM if that's the case? He might end up signing up with us again.
The most likely outcome is he is traded to Port, they'll just offer us a better deal at the last minute.
You're still spending ~$3mil on someone who doesn't want to be there.Nth Melbourne #15, #17, #18.

Nick Stevens. You're still spending ~$3mil on someone who doesn't want to be there.
I also can't think of a single occurrence of this happening?
Not sure about that one. It's a bit of punting. If it gets to Wednesday afternoon I'm backing a bit of future pick swapping gets the deal done. Like our F2nd for Freos F2nd & 25. It'll get done.
That was preseason draft, so a little different than spending a first rounderNick Stevens.
It just doesnt happen in modern footy, you burn bridges with players, list managers and player agents, footy clubs just dont conduct themselves in that manner. You're still spending ~$3mil on someone who doesn't want to be there.
I also can't think of a single occurrence of this happening?

Stanley, who joined the Cats from St Kilda in the 2014 Trade Period, has played 138 games since joining the Club, kicking 65 goals.
If they were so eager they should have had discussions with us before hand. Now they make it look like we are the bad guys.Port should have have kept their F1 and offered that.
It is fair to fight for what you think is right. If Sav walks and we get nothing so be it. I do not think Geelong will bend. We will put it in the memory bank.Sometimes you have no choice but to except what the other side is offering even though you think he is worth more. This is one of those times.
I think Hawthorn would also be a chance. May depend on how they structure the payment. If the offer is $700k for 5 years. Port and Esava may make it $1.5m for the first year and $500k per year for the remaining 4 which may well put Nth and Hawthorn out of it. To get there Port would need to rearrange payments with existing players if they are able to.I reckon Nth are a chance of picking him up.
Too many twists and turns.I think Hawthorn would also be a chance. May depend on how they structure the payment. If the offer is $700k for 5 years. I expect though there will be a deal right on the closing time.

Zach Tuohy, Rhys Stanley and Gary Rohan have all recommitted to the Catswww.geelongcats.com.au
I pondered that yesterday. I think yes he could unless North grab him with one of their late first rounders. So ...if we do not move on Sav... and Port dont move ..... does he get thru to 25/30 in the draft ... and Port take him with the pick they are offering?
Hawthorn don't have a pick in the draft before Port, unless they're taking him at 4, which seems very unlikely.I think Hawthorn would also be a chance. May depend on how they structure the payment. In saying that... there is no way they would want it to go that way, especially with teams being able to trade picks around willy-nilly well after the trade period and on draft night.
There's alot of water to go under the bridge and time before the draft... Just thinking of ways Port could miss, I could imagine a world where Sav feels let down by Port by them not getting a trade done and then he is now in this situation that would be hella stressful.
Geelong could come back to the party with a better offer.
Hawks could show him lots of love after Port let him down and trade up ahead of #25.
North could show him love and convince him to just go into the PSD and they'd get him.
There is lots of ways where Port could miss out on this very important piece of their puzzle because they are being somewhat tight.
All 4 playing out their last year with the club.
In my gut i want them not to get too many games with our youngsters stepping up and overtaking them on merit.
Bargain really.
Instant starter, instant upgrade to an already premiership team.
Windows close quick. Sometimes a lot quicker than u realise.
Nodody is using a top 20 pick on a guy that doesnt want to be at their club, Sav would be a certainty to get to Port.
Schultz is an underrated player but a fair bit of downside risk with the F1 involved. If they win the flag again then it will be a good deal but small forward doesn't scream to me like an area of need for the Pies so if they do have a hangover it could bite.
