The rumor is Collingwood is going after Gilmore and I would also like to see Siegert in Black and White. Bearing in mind both have been struggling for a game and Siegert will most likely be delisted, what do you think it would take to get them across?

Probably a 3rd rounder for Siegert, but I don't think Gilmore will be going.

I'd like Siegs to stay as I like him playing for the Mighty Red and Whites. Gilmore too. Does that make me selfish?

Siegert - an airfare.

Gilmour - will stay, just needs to listen to advice given by coaches / runners.

Masai should probably reprise that post about about not every player can be a Pavlich or a Judd. Siegert has been a loyal, hardworking servant of the club for a long-time and should be accorded some respect. He was originally a rookie-listed player and has made the most of what he has, and certainly holds his end up when he does play at senior level.

Probably 4th or 5th round for Siegert. Given some of our trades in the past I the club would probably assist Ziggy if he wanted to go. I think he would be good value as he would add depth.

Gilmour plays great in the WAFL but there have always been question marks about his hardness at the contest. And he is very one-sided. I think he would be more of a project player than Siegert as he will get found out at senior level. He is a also Fremantle boy (Siegert is from Geelong way) and I'd be surprised that he would want to move. And I'm not sure the club would be that keen to trade him for a draft pick. You get a second round unknown for a player that is regularly on the fringe of senior selection.

I like Siegert and he has been a loyal servant, but he is on the chopping block. I basicly said you could get him for very little.

Tough decisions must be made as to who to delist. This has been covered in other threads.

I am a great supporter of the "workers" in the team who give 100% each week. eg. Cook, Bell, Macca, Parker, Grover etc. Not the greatest supporter of the "pretty boys" who show their genius when the moon is in the correct phase.

Siegert - 3rd round pick (i think a rule exists where if we get a pick from a club we must use it. Is that true? because otherwise i'd say a 4th round pick.)

Gilmore - prefer to keep him. He is needed for depth. Could easily slot into the best 22 with a solid preseason. Some argued he was there this year.

siegert has some potential..not sure how far he'll go but a change of scene will do him some good. at a team like collingwood, where he'll get lots of gametime will be ideal.

Watch him transform into a very handy player

Gilmore is a good WAFL player but yet to convince me at AFL level, but give him time.
Why would Collingwood want another Ryan Lonie type anyway???

I'd trade the pair of them for Tarkyn Lockyer. He is small and not that fast, and we don't need him, but he would play in our best team, or at least add depth at the top. I'm also assuming that Gilmore is the only one of the two with trade value as Seigert could be picked up pre-season if delisted.

2 people touted as being delisted for the pies vice captain? You're kidding aren't you? While we're at it, let's swap Dion Woods with Leo Barry! Not going to happen!

We have 35 odd players on the list. Not all of them are going to be certain starters. Players like Ziggy can fill a spot and give us a bit of depth. He played five games this year from rounds five to nine and was dropped after the Hawthorn debacle, I think with an injury.

Whilst Ziggy didn't get much of a go this year he certainly took his opportunities when they came up.

I was surprised as anyone when he actually lined up in the Len Hall game against Carlton but he had a pretty good game from what I can remember.

22 possessions and five marks. Not bad for a depth player.

Gilmore - I don't know, for some reason he is on the outer but maybe he is just a depth player too. Is he too good for that? Hasn't had much of a go this year for other clubs to get a look so I'm not sure that we will get in return what he is really worth.

My concern is that we spend time developing these players up to the AFL standard, then when they are just about ready to step up to a regular game we trade them away. Thank god we didn't trade Grover away, I'll bet he was mentioned as trade bait at the end of last year.

The only thing Collingwood have that we would want is good draft picks.

Exacary Slacker.

And Pants, Gilmour is hardly on the outer. He's been named in the 25 for nearly every game.

Love to see where Gilmour is touted as being delisted. Haven't heard that at all. Would be extremely surprised and disappointed if he was. he is young, tall, great kick and had a good year. Isn't at AFL level yet, but with experience seems likely to make it. I've enjoyed him when he has played in the team, but the coaches obviously feel that he still needs development.

Being a vice captain wouldn't make him that much less tradeable. Rowan Jones is VC at the Eagles and will play next to no games, and you would think might be looking elsewhere next year. Black and J Carr were VC's too weren't they? Certainly in the leadership groups at their clubs.

For me Tarkyn wouldn't be a trade target as he doesn't fill a specific need for us, but if he is on the table then an exhange for those two players could be a win win, and yes I think the Dockers short term would win more.

Could you imagine the pasting we'd get if that happened.

I'd keep him, he started show some real form early this year. Became the sacraficial lamb after the Dons game then couldnt get back in.

Not to mention his ankle injury in the WAFL derby.

Gilmour has signed for another yr at Freo

Yeah I think Siegert is a better player than Swan, but we could get him for much less, or for free even.

If you floated that trade on the Collingwood board it would alomst spark world war III. I think Swan is a reasonable player, but he is vastly overrated by most Pies supporters.

I notice that other Freo supporters here are saying to keep all of our delisting contenders, but who are we going to ged rid of? We have to make a certain number of changes to our list, and you would think this would have to come from the uncontracted players.

Anyone got another solution?

From what i have seen Andrew Siegert is one of the Dockers best depth players despite being rarely used. I think another club would take him cheaply or for nothing. Daniel Gilmore on the other hand is a player i'd love at the Dogs. He would be just the HB Flanker we need to free up McMahon and Gilbee. He has a good size about him and is being kept out only by player preference due to strong competition at this stage. He has youth and i would love if the Dockers would accept a 3rd round draft pick for him?

And a grandson of a dogs premiership player.

Was in Colac during the week(Siegerts home town) and the talk there was that he had been delisted. Has the club come out to confirm this yet, or are they waiting to see whats on offer in trade week?

I'm with just about everyone on this board on the fact that Siegert is a good footballer and will benefit from being given a go, looks like whoever wants him can just about have him for nothing now. Lets hope he's in Black and White in 06!

I'd be happy if we got the pies 3rd round pick for both of them (pick 37). Both are handy fringe players but unfortunately you have to cut players each year. We probably have to delist 6 players if we are going to elevate Warren, Duffield and Crowley.
If I were to rank our uncontracted players starting at the one with the least to offer I would probably go-
Woods
Haines
Smith
Sigert
Webster
Gilmore
Browne.

If we cut 5 players Gilmore is probably safe. If we need to delist 6 it's hard to find anyone who deserves their spot less than Gilmore (except for McManus and Schofield who are both contracted.
