Congrats to Goody...... - he was the obvious choice.
Good to see vB lurking in the leadership group - waiting to take the Club to the next level of galactic dominance
I'm getting hot flushes.Well Triggy was very impressed with the size of vB's arms....![]()
Obviously big enough to carry us all.
I'm getting hot flushes.

I'm just going to say I strongly disagree and leave it at that.
Last night at our AGM a question was raised about making sure we keep players such as van Berlo, Knights and Maric and the answer from Trigg was that we will make sure that they don't come out of contract.....

The playing group picks the captain, so do you think you know better than the playing group?
This mode of voting seems to encourage the conservative choice and I believe (as does it seems the football dept believes) that now is a time to be progressive and forward-thinking.
I don't claim to know anything. I do not agree with the majority of the playing group, even if it was a majority. The anti-Goodwin vote could have been split. Also, if they followed the procedure from last year, players have to vote in front of the playing group and state reasons. It would be very hard to go against the grain in front of the group. So why have many of the other AFL clubs followed us into this type of procedure? Geelong being one of them that instigated our leadership program this past season. That tells me we are progressive and forward-thinking when we were one of the first to embrace this and others are copying.....
Triggy even demonstrated the size of his arms.
You boys missed out on some vB love from our CEO![]()
Could you be more descriptive?
Just how big are we talking about here?

This likely to be controversial but I think Van Berlo's elevation to the leadership group is premature. He might be a future captain but has he really earned it yet? 2 and a bit years of senior football, about 50 games, I cant recall more than 1 really outstanding one (v Chad Cornes last showdown)
2 things
1. I think on performance we vastly overrate him. I think he will be a good AFL players, play 200 games but there are many 21 year olds of similar quality in the AFL. I'm all for him becoming a star don't get me wrong, but he is a long way off that yet. Knights better in 07 (in a different role)
2. I know Scott Thompson made a mistake in the off season (Goody's made 1 or 2 also) but he demonstrated great on field leadership in 07, 18 Brownlow votes, miles ahead of VB for mine as a leader
Are we still talking about his arms???![]()
