Griffin Logue on Will Day

North doing the right thing by challenging. Day ran into Logue.
So, you're using the excuse it's the other players fault? I seem to recall when Higgins ran into Burton (Burton was also not moving like logue) that the roos demanded the death penalty (overexageration)

It is worth a week. He saw day coming and decided to play the man. Potential to cause harm bumps it up to a week.

Day takes his eyes off the ball and runs into Logue.
So day is such an imbecile that he sees a player lining him up, doesn't brace for contact, and runs face first into him... I've heard it all

Yes. Day is an imbecile, he has taken his eyes off the ball, looked directly at Logue and run into him. You can literally see him looking directly at Logue in the stills.

Because he realised "oh **** this campaigner is about to hit me with a cheap shot".

Logue had options other than bumping. By the AFL rules that is all it takes him him to be guilty.

The Tribunal needs to increase it by a week to make a strong stand.

So you are arguing potential to cause injury to Logue's shoulder? An illegal head butt to the shoulder? How many weeks for Day do you think it should be?
Smart logic.

I'm saying that a player that doesn't make the ball their aim and then goes off their line into their opponent like Day should reasonable expect contact.

Deserves a week for stupidity. Why would anyone want to bump an opponent, when it could result in 3+ weeks if the opponent is knocked out?
It's a lottery on whether this ends up a fine or 1 week... I don't care as long as the tribunal/MRP keeps it consistent throughout the year.

We all know if it's prelim final week, or round 22 and the Brownlow Medal favourite does this, that it will be just a fine.

Hmmmm, I was 100% on the intentional/2-3 week bandwagon before seeing the shot of him reaching down toward the ball... no-one intentionally going for a bump would lower their arm like that (although maybe the modern player is more cunning than I thought).

It was the most half arsed attempt at going for a ball you'll ever see from an AFL player. He never really intended to go for the ball. He put an arm down and it came off his leg as he switched his attention to going the bump on Day. The thought of going the ball was only momentary, the real goal was the bump. He over ran the ball without really attempting to go for it.

If he were 60 with back problems and couldnt bend his back then i would say it was a legitimate attempt at going for the ball.

It has been graded careless, medium impact, high contact.
North will claim low impact footy action and possibly dispute high contact.
It should be reduced to low and a fine as Day seemed completely unaffected.

Where is Day's attempt at the ball before running straight into Logue?

Now show the other angle and 2 frames earlier where Logue has tucked his arm in ready for contact. He feigned an attempt to pick up the ball.

Free hit from North to attempt to get him off, but he was never getting off and the arguments in here that he was ran into are hilarious.

Day was tracking the ball and got blindsided by Logue. His focus was the ball until he got ironed out. If you can't see that your an idiot. If Logue had made a beeline for the ball and cleaned him up ( In other words bent down and his forward motion causes the collision) than he doesn't even get cited. Once you brace for the bump and you accidentally hit the guy in the head it's bad luck. Would have thought it's not rocket science.
