BTW, Michael Dawson should ABSOLUTELY come in. If Ledley King's injured then there are absolutely no other options. Carragher just showed how ****ing awful he really was, Upson is no good either, but watch, Capello will look past him as usual.

Spot on. Upson is rubbish, Carragher is too slow. SWP and Lennon haven't got a decent delivery between them (Johnson is better going forward than either). Dump them and bring in Joe Cole.

If Lennon is match fit, he is the best winger England's got. He's clearly underdone and should have never made the World Cup squad.

Capello should have taken Adam Johnson. Walcott is shit but even he is a better option than a 50% fit Lennon or SWP.

And yet Lennon was Englands best player in the 2nd half. He was actually too unselfish in the game in general.

now in Serbian and Akan please.

it's only fair.

so do most Indians, but they still have their other native languages. Akan's the only one of them I know ... ahh, finally year 9 social studies has paid off.

England's biggest weakness - which quite pathetically no one has mentioned.

A ridiculous lack of finishing quality in attack. Apart from Rooney none of the players who started yesterday are known for their finishing - in fact they are known for their lack of.

Lennon was excellent - but if you're after a precise final ball or productivity he's not your man. Gets himself in great positions but never quite picks the right ball/gets it right.

SWP - again can sometimes dribble his way past a player but as seen when given the chance to net the winner - he's not a finisher and never will be. He can hit the ball hard. That's about it.

Heskey - arguably England's best on the night but either by ground or in the air - unless he doesn't mean to score then he's not going to.

Joe Cole?? A terrible record as a productive attacking threat. Lacks the power and to be honest talent and it shows.

These players will get in good positions and have their chances but when you're not good enough to regularly/take them at a passable rate then you're wasting your time.

Rooney is the only natural and decent finisher in attack.

For that reason I'd be finding a way to put Defoe into the team. Not the ideal partner for Rooney but I'd trust him to put it away more than any of the others.

This game is ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. Both teams don't want to concede looks like 0-0 unless 1 of the teams actually take a chance to score which I doubt.

I didn't see the first 30-35 minutes of this game (was watching Underbelly), and for some reason I thought Algeria was wearing the green, and Slovenia the white. I suppose Slovenia are like us - blue, red and white on the flag, but green and gold on the uniform.

Doesn't seem like I've missed much though, judging by Les Murray's comments and those from posters here. That save from the Algerian keeper was nice, although on replay it probably would have hit the crossbar anyway. Still, he couldn't have known that and it was a good effort to get a clean hand on the ball.
