As crap as England have been, Germany have been just as bad. Problem is that Argentina will be waiting in the quarters.

Can the USA beat Ghana then Uruguay and make the semi-final?

We played alright today - much better than the two previous offerings.

I am actually strangely quite confident about the Germany game. I was hoping to face them rather han Ghana, cos I am pretty sure we will bring our "A" game -providing Capello doesn't tinker which I can't see. The world cup is all about these big matches - it's what makes it so exciting. Much more mouth-watering than playing Ghana.

I was happy with England today. They played with a fair bit of energy and looked switched on from the start. Should have scored 4 really. Gerrard, Rooney and Defoe all should have put those chances away.

I think Rooney looked a lot better. He worked hard which he had not done in the first 2 games and will be better for that run. He looked knackered and was starting to get frustrated, so good decision to take him off.

Germany will start favourites, but they have probably tapered off a little as England have improved. We are a chance.

Really glad that the USA got through. They were robbed of a victory in the last game. I love the way they play and donovan is just a genuine star.

the first couple balls in by him were crap and i was thinking here we go all over again but after the ball into Defoe when he scored he just tore it up on the right.

Upson in the 1st half got lucky a couple times when the ball was loose and he didnt go at it, lucky Slovenia turned those over.
