Really liking what I've played so far, brings back memories of vanilla WoW in a good way and the combat system while it takes some getting used to is extremely fun.

Really liking the game so far. The world feels alive, and teamwork is a priority. I feel like I can enjoy the game more and take my time. It seemed all to often in WoW, that it was moreso a race to level 85.

Did take me a little while to get used to the lack of a questing system. Now a level 33 Human Ranger but every class ive played has merit.

Love that it rewards me for just running off in any direction i want.

For those who have wasted away many hours across multiple MMO's, how does this stack up? It looks beautiful for an MMO and sounds interesting with its take on questing. Supposedly lacks end game content, but this was just on beta so no doubt that will change, kind of a good thing anyway as that is the real time sink.

Not close to 80 but from what i gather the whole game is end game. For instance im currently in a level 1-15 Norn zone at 33, the scaling system works pretty well. Id say i have i have a slight advantage to those levelling the same zone at level.

With two PVP formats and 8 instances that scale and come in 4 different versions id say it's launched with enough content.

What guild are you guys in? We should get a few Bigfooty members in the same one.

went to buy this yesterday buy they've stopped selling the digital version on their website, along with places like amazon due to the fact the game has sold incredibly well.

kinda annoyed. lol @ eb wanting $88 for the game.

Yeh, I bought mine online for $60 a few days before they halted their sales. It may be annoying, but I think it's a genuine sign that ArenaNet care about the gaming experience of their customers. In the long-term this decision will probably generate greater revenue, so it's a smart move.

Have you tried JB or any other similar stores? I don't even bother with EB, way too overpriced.

Not liking it as much as I thought I would, the lack of structure in PVE leaves me feeling more lost than adventurous.

Same am only level 7... but it feels underwhelming thus far... and quite simply a lack of fun. Too much running without doing anything. The character voiced storyline seems extremely C grade quality too... painful in fact.

After playing through voiced storylines in Mass Effect and Skyrim... this feels like a Nickelodean production.

I will still push on and see if it improves... but at the moment it is hard to tear myself away from Path of Exile in order to play this.

Really struggling with it, I just can't buy into the weapon=ability system. Really brings me down and I just can't for the life of me find a class where I like the mix of weapons, and there are far too many boons and conditions.

Feeling the same way. However, for a vanilla game it is in a really great state. I'm going to give it time and believe that it will really develop into something pretty special.

The game itself is fantastic, the environments are amazing, just hard to get into it when you don't like the classes. Jumped on wvwvw for a bit as guardian, felt completely useless as the only class without a ranged weapon :( Went on pvp and every game was half full of asuran thiefs.

Gave it a go, got to about lvl 10 with a couple of characters then got bored. Just couldn't hold my attention like other MMO's for some reason.

Fantastic visuals, great scenery but wasn't a fan of just running around aimlessly looking for the dynamic events. Just couldn't get into them. Tried pvp and I didn't feel like it was anything special and from a PVE standpoint it doesn't seem like there's much in the game to hold your attention. Has it's certain market in that it's a bit different from the usual and obviously sold well so people like it, maybe just not for me. Might try to give it one more proper go and some more playtime before I officially shelve it. No urge to login and play though and it won't get playtime over FIFA 13/NBA 2k13 though which are soon to be released.

Really enjoying it so far. I like that you can level up from crafting/exploring as well. It really isn't like any other MMORPG out there and while this can be a bit overwhelming for some people it gets really fun once you get into it (although playing in the beta helped). I used to play a lot of WoW and GW2 is great for me as I'm tired of the hardcore raiding scene and because of the down-grading system in the game it means that you can play in any zone and not completely dominate it because of your level.

Good Game just reviewed it and made it sound like a masterpiece. Made me want to go out and get it :o

Enjoying it, but not as much as I thought I would. Just don't like the weapons system.

Like I posted above, I’m struggling to get in to it (more in a sec). Last night though I managed to party up with a bunch of RL friends and we simply ran around completing early level “skill point” challenges, doing events and killing random things. The game itself though was boring… but it was the friends and BS commentary that made it fun.

Ok… in reply to the above ^… so far I don’t find it “overwhelming” (with the exception of all the conditions, boons and general excessive information no-one cares anything about… they’ve really over-complicated things there). It is more underwhelming in terms of gameplay. Run around, explore, craft and only a thin string of a quest driven storyline (that is C grade acting at its worst). The game lacks direction, which some argue is a good thing… but I counter saying that gamers want direction (both for major story arcs and minor tasks). Sure they also want “freedom” in a sandbox, but not in place of direction. All good sandbox games still have direction: Skyrim, WoW, GTA series.

Events are nice but wont sustain the players… Rift was the other main MMO with event based action and struggled to maintain interest.

As for the down-grading… again it is nice in some ways, but (for me) I use to love being an all-powerful god-like destroyer who could wander through low levels and wreck carnage at my pleasure. It gives your character a sense of power and awesomeness. How will that be achieve in GW2 if you’re DGed in every zone??

There’s a lot of nice things in GW2. I’ll keep playing nightly with my friends and admittedly will probably find some more positive (and perhaps negative) things about it, but it certainly isn’t a “can’t put it down” sort of title.

Lol just bought it due to their review
Yeah ditto  Level 4 at the moment, reserving judgement obviously until I get more into it. But I'm having trouble with the combat, finding it clunky. I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Despite the ridiculous amount of time I've spent playing mmo's over the last eight years gw2 took me quite a while to get the hang of. I tried out five classes before going back to my first pick of thief and I am loving the game now.

The way it rewards you for doing basically everything means it never feels like a grind. I'm up to level 71 now and should hit 80 this weekend. Crafting at higher levels is a great way to level, I managed ten levels yesterday by mixing crafting, some high xp events and wvwvw.

I'm on sea of sorrows playing as 'Passerby' if anyone else is there.
