you can never have enough

Useless if they don't know:

1) where to run
2) when to run
3) how to dispose of the ball after running

The jury is still out on a few of those boys in regards to the forementioned.

Monica is fine (well once he returns)

Varcoe wait and see if he can run at all

Burns would be better if he didnt hang on to it that bit too long...and didnt run into opponents

Tenace can run cant dispose that well as yet.

The last 2 need decision making classes this summer (sounds like Bommenr is onto that) so lets wait and see.

I find it interesting that we took Stephen Owen, another medium foward, with our pick at 35 instead of a taller foward - I know they all go quickly, but still... I wonder whether perhaps Jake Edwards (who was then taken next pick by Carlton) would have been better suited to our needs.
Best of luck of course to Owen but I thought our need for taller fowards that we can stick in the gym was greater than that for medium-sized ones. It's also interesting to see that we didn't draft one Falcons boy... shame shame! ;-)

There is no use drafting tall forwards if they are no good. You can't judge draftees until they have been at the club for a couple of years. Compare Owen and Edwards then.

The falcons will come in the rookie draft. Higgins would have been picked at 15 if there, Stanley would have been picked at 31 if still there and Bartram would have been picked at 61 if still there.

The thing with Owen is that there is a stack of improvement left in him. He comes across as another Steve Johnson type (hopefully without the issues at nightclubs), with that same X-factor. He needs to learn a lot and maybe there is also some growth in him, which could see him become a tall forward, you just don't know. But from all reports the kid oozes ability.
