Unfortunately whether or not the AFL say it's good or not good, Mark Harvey has put the spotlight on us this Friday night from the umpires.

I suspect the extra attention from the umpires towards us is all he wanted.

He is a prick IMO

Meh, clearly he is worried.

It's a total "beat-up" IMO this blocking "tactic"- if that's what you want to call it.

I've gone to every game this season and we block or shepherd within the rules of the game when we need to assist a teammate.

Seriously, all these sooks need to toughen up about it.

The umpires have been cracking down on it anyway, we haven't done it much that year at all. Harry's been doing it a bit but he makes sure to start behind the man on the mark, which is the rule now.

We used to absolutely flatten them after play on.

Harvey and Freo have been whinging all week, and this is just another case.

Pity the little football club can't hack it in the big leagues, whinging repeatedly about having to return to Freo from Brisbane at 6am. (Wouldn't of happened if they had of taken a flight the next day)

Now this, the problem is, umpires are very individual when it comes to decisions and interpretations of the rules, and Jeff Gieschen wont be moved by an public comments like this.

We are not breaking any rules anyway, the rules is you aren't allowed within 5 meters of the player with the ball, says nothing about the man on the mark, especially after the umpire calls play on.

Can't wait to thump this mob, I really think they are there for the beating, as negative thoughts breed negativity, and it seems Harvey is panicking a bit.

Harvey has had to endure a few years of crap and he can finally make a query which could be seen as a legitimate concern by a real coach.
Give him day in the sun.

He has put forward plenty of other possible excuses should they lose this is just another pre-emptive excuse.

I glad Mick is only saying it will be a tough game.

We've hardly even used this tactic ever since the media made a fuss about it in like round 3 or something. The umps don't let harry get anywhere near the man on the mark now.

I didn't really like it anyway, it hardly ever actually worked. Usually the guy would play on, harry would sort of sheppard, the player would get off a hurried kick down the line and it would normally result in a throw in.

Oh no... what ever will we do if we cant do that anymore...
