Head to Head - Campbell Brown V Max Rooke

An off-shoot from another poll (would C Brown get a game in every side) There has been a bit of talk who is the more valuable player.

Obviously I like Max, aside from being a spiritual leader of the cats he is making a name for himself as one of the toughest AFL players.

Lets see what some neutrals think

Brown leads in courage, speed, overhead marking, mobility, versatility.

Rooke is ahead in kicking for goal.

Rooke's put on some MASSIVE tackles in his time too.

2 quite similar players, Brown brings more to the table with his versatility, and probably has the runs on the board accross the field, but Rooke would fight his way into almost any side (literally if he had to! )

Not exactly sure what the comparison is based on.

I would say Rooke is every bit as tough or tougher than Browney (splitting hairs though). In terms of courage they are on a par.

I terms of the football they have produced over their careers, I would say Browney has played the better football to date. Having said that, Rooke has been the better player over at least the last 12 months.

I find that quite ironic, as if I wanted a forward I'd take Brown, but defensively I'd consider Rooke.

I hope you have some official capacity at Carlton, and I'm sure many other clubs supporters do as well if Rooke is the first player you'd take from Geelong.

I guess that would just leave scraps like Ablett, Bartel, Scarlett, Ling, Corey, Enright, Johnson and Chapman for other clubs to pick at.
