News flash..... AFL is a joke. Apparently the Magpies wanted to wear the white backed strip but AFL said was a clash so wore black back and Taints wore vomit white, WTF, heritage round ? Makes a mockery of the whole idea.

If Saints wore their usual jumper it would have been pretty much black and we would have been wearing mostly white. Give us white shorts and them black shorts and there is no issue at all.

We refused to wear our heritage(white/away) jumper and therefore the saints had to wear their clash strip as their heritage strip clashes with our home strip.

Why we refused is up for debate, some say its because we didn't want to wear our away jumper at a home match, while others say its because we wanted to be assholes to the AFL and some others say its to show that the heritage round is a flop and should be scraped. I think its a combination of the three.

Carlton also didn't wear a heritage strip, so we aren't the only ones.

If the AFL were smart enough they would schedule teams to play teams with no clashes on heritage round.

Thats just the thing, they did.

If we wore our heritage jumper then there would of been NO clash with saints heritage jumper.

We are to blame no one else, someone should be asking Eddie why we did this, I would of loved to see us in our 70's jumper, for me our white strip is far better than our black strip and it is also the jumper we had most of our success in, including the most recent one in 1990.

You have a source for that Rob? I was told both our heritage and regular jumpers would have clashed with the Saints heritage jumper so the saints were forced to wear a clash jumper which also clashed with the umps heritage outfit forcing the umpires to wear their regular stuff. :D

Funny how the game was played for 100 years without any jumper clashes, then suddenly in the age of marketing, all these so-called clashes are causing a problem so every team needs a new jumper. Just call me cynical.

Saints to wear clash guernsey

Round 14 celebrates Heritage Round with a salute to the 1970s era. St Kilda's 70's guernsey clashes with Collingwood's nominated guernsey for this match, therefore the Club has chosen to wear its 2007 clash guernsey, which is predominantly white in the designated Heritage Round.

After consultation with the AFL and Collingwood, the Saints made the decision to wear their clash guernsey to ensure that there is no clash with Collingwood’s predominately black guernsey.

While St Kilda would like to wear a guernsey that represents their 1970’s heritage, the Club's decision to wear its clash guernsey was made to avoid the obvious clash with Collingwood’s home guernsey.

BTW this is what we should of worn, and this is what saints should of worn.

I can't see a clash there, can you?

No I can't, but I don't see a clash between our home jumper and the heritage Saints one either.

In all honesty, the only clash I've ever seen in 20 years of watching footy was the 2 '77 Grand Finals I watched on a b&w tv.:p
