If we have McKernan or Brown as the second key tall, we will kick it to them too often and they will cough up the ball. McKernan isn't a forward and Mitch Brown is a third forward, works hard both ways too.

Hooker has to play CHF, maybe he's a better CHB than CHF, but we don't have any other viable choices. When our players look up and see Hooker, they'll kick it to him with confidence. If they look up and see McKernan, they'll hesitate.

He's fit enough to make the long leads down the ground that lead up half forwards need to do and that leaves Joe lurking in an open forward line.

Joe isn't agile enough to play higher up the ground and we don't have any other viable long- lead-up options. Hooker to CHF until Brown or McKernan or somebody else demands his spot, then we can move him back.

For me, Brown is the best back up because he's more agile and gets to a lot of contests.

Big Fish played full forward because we didn't have one even though his best position was ruck and that worked for us.

So if the match committee agrees with us, will you all admit you were wrong, or do the majority of us know more than the match committee?

Don't bother answering, everyone on BF knows more than the board and committee of their club. Just like we'd all run the government better, we wouldn't bludge in the public service and we'd all pick way better music if we were in charge of radio stations.

The proof is in the pudding. If we get to the end of 2016 and Hooker has been an effective forward and our defense hasn't leaked goals then we'd have to say they've got it right.

Right now it seems like a bad idea to play him forward but one way or another we won't know for another 9 months.
