Agree. We will be very lucky to finish in the eight given our form this year. We are just making up the numbers I'm afraid. We got a disfunctional forward line, a midfield that's full of front runners, a back line that leaks like a tap and poor depth all round.

It's Sydney's flag to lose from here. They have the best forward line, midfield, back line, ruck division, best depth, they smash teams week in week out, they are ranked number one in attack, number one in defense and they have goal kicking midfielders who hit the scoreboard regularly. Hard to see anybody knocking them over right now. Well maybe GWS.

Anything can happen between now and the finals, as the injuries to Hawthorn in the last few weeks have shown.

The same can happen to Sydney, Collingwood, Port.

Most Pies fans have maintained that we won't win the flag this year, as we're still in development-mode, but finishing top 4 will certainly exceed our pass mark.

The gap between our young and experienced players still needs to be bridged, and the young players will be stretched by the end of the year.

The flag is Sydney's to lose, courtesy of COLA. It would be an undeserved flag, its forward line makes a mockery of the AFL and is a kick in the guts to the teams who have spent years developing their lists fairly.

Injury ravaged we're like Rocky Balboa fighting in a wheelchair. Might put up a decent effort and maybe sneak over the line as we almost did against Sydney and Port....... but overall we will not win.

You are better off not being the favourite, it worked for us last year when Sydney, Geelong and Fremantle were the media darlings - despite Hawthorn being the #1 side all year.

Most impressive was that Collingwood fielded a younger and more inexperienced side last night. To be sitting 3rd on 7-3 with a back line made up purely of Rookies is pretty damn good. Pies will only get better next few seasons with Freeman, Reid and Shaz to come into the side.
