One of the worst performances in the history of the club - both in terms of statistics but also expectations versus reality. And they are all having a good old laugh down in the change rooms.

I would be devastated if I were involved with that disgrace.

That’s ok, we measure ourselves on vibe anyway, all ok no concerns here !

That really was one of the worst performances I can remember.

I just feel apathetic this morning. I'm reasonably positive without going overboard, but I had to dig in deep. There was Wagner and Dudley, that's it.

We need someone serious to take over, that includes overhauling Garlick. The board need to get together asap.

Thanks for posting this, it irked me too watching that clip.

I understand footy is just a job to most of these blokes but to go out and put up that performance and be back in the rooms smiling, laughing and posing for photos afterwards like nothing happened is just disgraceful and really outlines the lax, who cares mentality of this club.

Even Switta in his post match interview looked like he was trying not to laugh while talking about how pathetic we were.

All the greats of the game talk about how important the mental side of footy is, talent can only get you so far but it’s the mentality of the club that’s crucial to success. I’ve never been so certain this clubs mentality, from the board, to the coach and the players, is so lackadaisical. They are content with being just mediocre.

Only player that looked at all upset was Serong, who looked dejected leaning on the back wall with his head down. He had a poor game but you can’t question he’s one of the only blokes at the club who truly gives a f*ck.

I personally don't care that players are smiling and laughing with friends and family in the rooms after the game, especially Reid, the kid would relish some family time after that performance.

But I've known for years the players in general don't care enough. Every Collingwood player is willing to die for the jumper and supporters. They truly believe it's an honor to represent the club and appreciate the fans turning up. They have a brotherhood.

We simply don't have that. We hand out long term contracts to players who then get complacent.

JL, Brierty and Garlic also don’t mind that the players don’t worry about losing horribly, or their performance.

The one that really gets me is Pearce.

Cox not far behind, not a competitor.

Reid least concerning, but what standard are we setting for a young player?

We need players who hate losing, and they are in short supply in this group.

Optics are terrible, but not surprising.

Yep. Saw vision of Serong walking away alone looking very dejected. That's a man who actually cares. OK, so he was tagged and his game suffered, but where are the enforcers, those team mates that charge in and let taggers know that every contest they're getting a bump, a push, a rib tickle...
Honestly, there is something missing. There is no true comradery, no playing for each other. I've played in teams like this before and it sucks. No one does one-percenters, no one shepherds, no one remonstrates, no one celebrates small things or acts of selflessness. It's such a shame. Freo from 20 years ago had all that but just not the skill and coaching. The club has lost its grit and soul and the fans know it whether they admit it or not. They've even f'd the organic home game atmosphere with this social engineering fake hype music crap.
None of that matters to them though. They've gained financially through smart marketing propaganda that sells a premiership dream without any evidence or explanation of how it will happen. They just don't care. They want paying members - money, not success.
I will from now on refer to them as the Fremantle Football Corporation until their actions change my mind.

What kind of club has a full-back as captain anyway? Let alone a hippy.
I mean your position on the field as captain couldn't be more irrelevant.

Harris Andrews is a premiership captain and before him it was Darcy Moore.

Sicily, recently retired Grimes, Rampe was a co-captain.

Pearce being captain isn't an issue at all, he is clearly our leader and I'd choose him every single day before Serong and Andy. They're still a year or two away from being ready and it's more and more clear every single day

What would you rather, a captain's goal or a captain's spoil?

Harris Andrews and Darcy Moore are the exceptions that prove the rule.

If the players still pick the captain every year, then it's just another indication that the values from the top down are plain wrong.

I don't have an issue with him being in the leadership group, maybe co-captain. But if you can't see that he's part of the problem or, at the very least, a symptom of it by now, you probably never will.

Hold up, the two most recent premiership captains are defenders, but they're an exception? Double standards mate, come on now.

Vent away, I'm with you on the frustration/sick of this team stuff, but thinking Pearce as captain is the issue is simply wrong. Ease up on the cheap shots too.

Whether Pearce is the captain is not the issue I have with your post. The fact you say that Brayshaw and Serong are a few years away from being ready is quite laughable imo. Brayshaw is 25, Serong 24. Plenty of guys are club captains at that age. Those two are as ready as ever to take the reins. The problem would be which one to choose.

Gee, what could possibly be the difference between Brisbane, Collingwood, and The Dockers?

At this point, if you and malpaso disagree, it's almost confirmation that I'm right.
