Hawks v Swans in Rd 22, 1999
First time a team used the interchange as a weapon, and the Swans had no answer. Interchanges have skyrocketed ever since
What did they do with the interchange that was different? Use it for rest and rotation?

Who cares what the game looks like. It is up to each team to use whatever means available, within the rules of the game, to win. That is all that matters.

I wouldn't care if my team won a grand final with a scoreline of 0-0-0 to 0-1-1.

Was an actual tactic to rotate players through the bench rather than on the field. Players were running off every couple of minutes (I'm groups of 4) whilst teams back then barely made that many changes a quarter

2018 R1, when Carlton were manically handballing it out of their backline to beat our pressure - like catch and then handball in almost one action. Just little 2-3m handballs, but enough so that the player handballing it became a blocker for the bloke they handballed it to. Worked pretty well I thought, with a bit of refinement it could be the way to beat it.

Richmond fans are so in denial about the state of the game it's hilarious. You're a really good side and you've got every right to be happy with it, but come on....the game is "high quality", "fast scoring" and "unpredictable"?

Nope.
Is your tipping completely ****ed like everyone else's? The game is definitely unpredictable.

Seeing the Western Bulldogs run out on grand final day.

Actually, even earlier that that. Late in the semi when the Dogs had us on toast and Bruce brought up the reality, which was 'either one of the Bulldogs, or the Giants will be in this years grand final'. Considering there had barely been a surprise grand finalist for the better part of 20 years, this was quite startling to hear out loud.

Bulldogs vs Essendon 2000 - the flood.

Pagan's paddock in r12 1996 in response to Sydney doubleteaming Carey the week before.

The fallout from Nick Maxwell's bump on McGinnity in the preseason of 2009 - killed the bump.

The fallout from Rowan's broken leg in 2012 - rule change

The thing is we don’t,we score over 100 points.

Richmond total footy!

6 of last years 8 are in there atm, Geelong in 9th and sure to overtake North. Hawthorn the other who have come in, having recently won 3 flags. Brisbane, Carlton, St Kilda down the bottom. Every season the early rounds have thrown up a few suprises until form settles, in comparison to recent years this season has been completely predictable.

What exactly about this season so far has been "unpredictable"?

JK senior - centre bounce flood.
Barrass - handball as attacking weapon; swing players.
Sheeds - 1/2 team as utility players; perfecting the stopper; demanding large interchanges.
JK snr and Pagan - a huge forward open area.
Jeans - go the biff for all 4 quarters.

Sorry but having each and every game devolve into a maul as below is horrid to watch

I normally have 1 crappy round at the start of most seasons. I've had 3 this year. Going back a few years, tipping 150 winners wasn't unrealistic. Now 130 is a winning score.
For so many years, the premiership race after the first few months was between 2 or 3 teams - and sometimes the 2nd was only for the chance of the clear number 1 team choking on GF day. Now, we have genuinely no idea and we are up to round 7 - Richmond, Adelaide, GWS, Geelong, Sydney, West Coast, Collingwood, Hawthorn have all made legitimate claims. I've probably missed a couple as well, and there will be more teams look like they can join the party in coming weeks. If there's one thing you can't call modern football, its predictable.
