Not sure why everyone’s saying Richmond fans are being insecure. Maybe we just view things differently because our team plays entertaining football each week, and that warps our view of the state of the overall.

Was an actual tactic to rotate players through the bench rather than on the field. Players were running off every couple of minutes (I'm groups of 4) whilst teams back then barely made that many changes a quarter

2018 R1, when Carlton were manically handballing it out of their backline to beat our pressure - like catch and then handball in almost one action. Just little 2-3m handballs, but enough so that the player handballing it became a blocker for the bloke they handballed it to. Worked pretty well I thought, with a bit of refinement it could be the way to beat it.

Been going to the footy since 1975, and I don't 'prefer' any era. Old school footy in the 70s and 80s was great, and so is the 2018 version. Things weren't 'better in the good old days', and they're not better now, they're just different.

Late in the semi when the Dogs had us on toast and Bruce brought up the reality, which was 'either one of the Bulldogs, or the Giants will be in this years grand final'. Every season the early rounds have thrown up a few suprises until form settles, in comparison to recent years this season has been completely predictable.

What exactly about this season so far has been "unpredictable"?

What exactly about this season so far has been "unpredictable"?

I normally have 1 crappy round at the start of most seasons. I've had 3 this year. Going back a few years, tipping 150 winners wasn't unrealistic. Now 130 is a winning score.
For so many years, the premiership race after the first few months was between 2 or 3 teams - and sometimes the 2nd was only for the chance of the clear number 1 team choking on GF day. Now, we have genuinely no idea and we are up to round 7 - Richmond, Adelaide, GWS, Geelong, Sydney, West Coast, Collingwood, Hawthorn have all made legitimate claims. I've probably missed a couple as well, and there will be more teams look like they can join the party in coming weeks. If there's one thing you can't call modern football, its predictable.
