Read the Australian Institute of Criminology report with the assistance of the National Coronial Information System investigation it in the National Deaths In Custody Program.

"The Australian Institute of Criminology runs a program specifically identifying indigenous deaths in custody (The National Deaths in Custody Program NDICP). It looks at both prison and police related deaths. In a 20-year study it found that both non-indigenous and indigenous deaths had decreased and were at some of the lowest rates ever seen. The report noted in terms of indigenous deaths the total is lower than would be expected based on the proportion of the prison population that is Indigenous. The report noted that the rate of death has been consistently lower among Indigenous prisoners than their non-Indigenous counterparts. Importantly the report noted that It can be concluded that fact Indigenous persons were no more likely to die in prison custody than non-Indigenous persons remains true today."

Dr Terry Goldsworthy, Associate Professor in Criminology, Bond University.
So they are a thing but only as a function of the higher incarceration rates.

Edit also noting that this professor is ex detective and other publications seem to be in favour of more heavy handed approaches (eg argues against raising age of responsibility). Now gotta say I would have liked his attitude against the lockdown protests, but there’s a chance his analysis could be biased?

Is there reason to believe the hospitals wont be overrun at 80%?
If one believes the modelling, that’s the reason.
There’s face validity that there will be less demand the higher the vaccination rate.

There should be medical and psychological analysis of the effects of lockdown and covid on kids before we go down that path.
That would probably take longer to complete than the 80% vaccine target

Are we at 80% yet?

I would prefer not to have my hospital overrun prior to 80% vaccination- this is what the health advice is saying.
I do not have to take sh*t from dumbarse protest mobs.

Have you seen this health advice the Andrew's government will not release ?

Because while the UK has 1/3 the daily cases of earlier in the year, it has 1/6 the hospitalizations, and 1/20 the deaths

I never said they weren't a thing.
Read the report, its easy to find.
Non indigenous per population have a higher death rate. That is fact.

Report also says
- indigenous deaths younger than non indigenous
- higher rate of incarceration due to being charged with assault where no bodily harm occurred (12% of indigenous vs 4% non indigenous)

No I am only going by the publicly reported parts of the Doherty report/ road map.
Yes I would like this advice publicly released.

But you are adamant lockdown is the only way?
Where's your science then?
Lockdowns to manage the spread of the virus until vaccine targets have been met it’s really not that difficult to comprehend

There should be medical and psychological analysis of the effects of lockdown and covid on kids before we go down that path.

Lockdowns effects have zero to do with whether a vaccine is safe or not.

If it's safe, they should have it. That's the latest recommendation from Melb Uni's modelling - fastest way to slow the spread by 50% is to fast track vaccination of 3m aged five and above
