if it’s not working.. “ no no no we actually meant 80% INCLUDING KIDS.. we gotta lockdown now for a bit until the kids are vaxxed”
None of the 'vaccines' are approved for children under the age of 16; most not approved under the age of 18.

Pfizer, 16+ source: https://www.tga.gov.au/apm-summary/comirnaty
AstraZeneca, 18+ source: https://www.tga.gov.au/apm-summary/covid-19-vaccine-astrazeneca
Moderna, 18+ source: https://www.tga.gov.au/apm-summary/spikevax
Janssen, 18+ source: https://www.tga.gov.au/apm-summary/covid-19-vaccine-janssen

Unless there's updated information then that rules out most children of school age or younger. I do believe the federal government changed the target to 'eligible' people, not the entire population. Kind of like what they do for CPI, unemployment figures, etc.

Pfizer is approved for 12 and above.

Yep fair enough! Well I guess if you’re worried about your own kids it’s home school, masks and limited activity until they can be vaccinated.

But God forbid anyone suggest we need to live with Covid.

This is what reasonable people mean.
They were ALWAYS saying living with covid once 70-80% vaccinated. Dan is saying it, Foley is saying it we all forking saying it.

Even last year when no one was really talking about numbers I assumed all the suppression efforts were an attempt to buy time and avoid loss of life and mass infection until a vaccination plan could be sorted out and implemented
The only difference is now we are starting to get a picture of what those goals look like

Except for McGowan and Gladys. They seem to be trying to shift the goal posts. The feds are wanting none of it.

Would of been fantastic if we had strong federal leadership and messaging from the outset

They are all saying it now. When it actually happens will they actually go through with it once the target is reached?
I think they will still throw in some lockdowns when hospitals get overrun. The problem will be how often that happens with how they are currently resourced

Although it’s a little easier to keep nsw out of Wa than out of Victoria- on numerous levels.
There are dozens of crossing points on the Murray, whereas WA has a nice big desert to protect itself.

Imagine the outcry from the conga line of medya hacks who pursue Dan daily if he'd done this. Glayslighting, the Covid superspreader, not only avoids questions and tells lies but bans journos who ask hard questions. Fascist like.

Has Andrew Clennell been barred from NSW press conferences - for asking too many difficult questions?

If true, that is disgusting.

If true that is terrible. Will need that confirmed though rather than just someone putting a question out there for missing a couple of days.

If they were smart about it they would find a case and get them in as a close contact. Would give them a couple of weeks off from him. Not like it is hard to find a case in Sydney

Daniel, Gladys and Scott have all f’ed up majorly. Anyone who argues otherwise and posts here just to ‘get one over the other side’ should retreat to Bay 13.

Agree they've all f'ed up majorly. ScoMo has just been absent and was nowhere last year. I've been generally fine with Dan's efforts this year, but his disaster last year is still the comfortable clubhouse leader IMO.

I thought Gladys was a chance to make a late run for the crown but as we're now finding out in Victoria, Delta is virtually impossible to stop. Even with an immediate lockdown, you need to be extraordinary lucky. NZ is showing that too. The seeding event was NSW but it could have easily been here.

I think the thing some remember is that the Feds blocked people returning from India because of the "India" variant - aka Delta.
Already known that it was more highly transmissible yet when the seeding event occurred in Sydney, excuses were made and it took too long. At that point it ****ed the rest of the country up.

No doubt Morrison is gonna hope everyone forgets about this before the election. He imported it here with his terrible quarantine system. Bet if said variant killed hair transplants it wouldn’t have even made it to Christmas Island let alone the mainland.

Its disengenuous to blame :
"You can't blame anyone for it, except just the fact we do not have enough nurses.
"After the last lockdown, we lost so many. People don't want to do it anymore."

this is the “gaslighting” people refer to
Or the supposed lack of hindsight. As if we were taken by surprise with delta.

thats bullshit. They knew and nsw dragged their feet, because “we don’t do lockdowns”

This post is just too reasonable to be taken seriously (by most on here). 😀Very good.

Remember what happened when the government halted flights from India? The cries of “Our citizens can’t come home!” “Cruel and heartless!” “No compassion!” “Illegal! They have rights!” came from all sides. And yet the two outbreaks didn’t actually come directly from HQ. The bloke who travelled to Victoria from SA had served his time in HQ and was negative on discharge. The Sydney one was started by a taxi driver ferrying aircrew. Given the extreme infectiousness of Delta it was inevitable it would get here.

Can't be right. When I raised this as a potential issue I was told that health care professionals work for the love of the job and would never leave.
