Melbourne's population is growing due to immigration and international students.

So how many people left Melbourne and how many people came to Melbourne? Either way I said, why does everyone want to come and live here if Dan is so bad. I guess it's not that bad.

Can anyone confirm Sttew 22% of less rentals number with a link? He lied or mislead regarding the Armstrong Creek pool yesterday, so I'd be careful with his claims.

epstein just interviewed pesutto on abc melbourne ...... not sure that was johns finest effort (gave me a good laugh tho)

Why did you get people leaving in Melbourne in droves so wrong? Does it hurt you inside? I wouldn't stress, it's just a forum. Not sure why you're trying to win brownie points here...
Oh my

How embarrassing you are

Agree, IF it is significantly cheaper and quicker than the Skybus.

I guess it's really choosing between catering to tourists or residents (I would virtually always drive or taxi to the airport even if there was a train line, I imagine most resident travelers are the same).
I'd choose the train over other options unless it's a work trip that costs me nothing.

Umm. The property disappears from the rental market if the buyer isn't renting it out, which appears to be happening at the moment. Even without rent freezes. Boy oh boy.

Do you support rental caps and reviews only every 2 years?
Renters are just home buyers priced out of the market.

That's not true. There's many reasons people choose to rent over buying.

If you take purchase and selling costs into consideration, it's often financially beneficial to rent unless you want to stay put for many years.

For the most part it is.

"If a political party or candidate gets a majority of votes, it means that they get more than all the other parties together. In Plurality voting, they only get more than any one of the others. Thus if there are three parties, the winning party may have a plurality of 40% while the other two each have 30%. A "true majority" or "absolute majority" means more votes than all the other parties together, i.e. more than half the total votes."

Do you mean plurality rather than majority? That's my take from your link.
Nervous laughter HurleyHepsHird. As expected from someone with your intellect.

I literally told someone today I do not respect their decision to vote No in the referendum, so I'm not sure how I'm a preacher of respect.

I don't think you know what communism is. I've been to a communist country, I've even lived in a facist one, were not in a communist state nimnod. People ACTUALLY want to come to Melbourne. Those countries people want to leave, but that would require the ability to regularly travel or speak different languages which I don't think you can, as evidence of me asking you what does quarantine mean but failed to answer
everything to the left of socialist malcom turnbull is communism

My 42% rent increase wasn't very financially beneficial

My last rent increase was $5 a week, I got very lucky! Now I've moved out they've put it up another $20 a week for the new tenant. But looking at the sales history, it's either missing or the same person has owned it a long time so it's likely not got a mortgage and therefore affected by rate rises.

Yeah, it seems Sydney population growth is slower than Melbourne.

I wonder how many droves left Sydney for Melbourne!

Looks like Wooden Robot needs some fact checking attention going forward.
The reason Melbourne has leap frogged SYDNEY population wise is because for the FIRST time Melton is now included in Melbourne’s figures.

FWIW, the AEC are lowering the number of federal seats in Victoria and New South Wales by one in the current redistribution of seats.
