His attempt at a Robin Hood tax on multiple hoisting; State imposition of a range of property related levies; His Gov’s refusal to reform the planning process for private development unless private sector re-distribute profits to State for housing. ...
What were the proposed reforms to the planning process (or where can I find them)?

Other property related taxes/levies/increases he’s introduced

A new stamp duty on property transfers between spouses
A new stamp duty on off-the-plan purchases
Vacant home tax
Widening of vacant residential land tax to uninhabitable properties
A new annual property valuation to increase land tax
Increased land tax for homes with contiguous blocks on a separate title
Increased Fire Services Property Levy
Increased absentee landowner surcharge for foreigner property
A new affordable housing tax (windfall gains on rezoned land)
A new affordable housing tax
Increased stamp duty on property transactions

What were the proposed reforms to the planning process (or where can I find them)?
He didn’t elaborate. All he said was that planning procedural efficiency reforms capable of saving millions wouldn’t go through unless developers of multiple dwellings, 3 or more, handed over a % of related profits.for social housing

Oh, didn't know that. But surely I can still show my certificate. Is there anywhere that still requires checking in?

Its easy enough to get the services Vic app. You can shove your cert into it from the Medicare app

It seems like a weird position to take to leave things less effecient and leave tens of thousands of potential jobs unrealised because of....spite?

Its not simple.
I don’t see a downside in removing tax advantages for residential property coupled with strong intervention by government to cap rental returns. It will move investors to other investment classes which retain tax advantages and therefore reduce cost of residential property (or at least stop the crazy rise).
The other that will help is rising interest rates leading to investors defaulting but there’s a lot of collateral damage to other home owners
So I vote to screw the investors

Or, I can just open the Medicare app I suppose. I also have the cert in my Apple wallet. If checking in isn’t required that is.

Most places don't require checking in any more, BUT I think some big venue places still require it (like the footy, concerts, etc)

Did you forget those renting?
They arent suddenly going to be able to scrape together a deposit & find a mortgagor, even with the added cost of mortgage insurance.
As interest rates go up, so will rents & thats got nothing to do with housing availabilty, even where rentals are capped. People chose to rent for a multitude of reasons, there will always be demand.

Then there is the issue of super, taken for granted by those in secure employment - for the regulation tradie/small business owner, they more often than not, need to fend for themselves & a rental property is a secure investment for them to build a nest egg.

As I said, its not that simple, & thats ignoring not all investment property is negatively geared, i.e a taxpayer will be levied at their highest marginal rate on their profit.

The issue of building a property portfolio on the back of gearing the first investment property to take advantage of negative gearing often ignores the fact the tax deduction does not cover 100% of the deductible amount.

See the issues in this piece from Aunty, most will recognise where they are today: Are borrowers prepared for higher repayments as interest rates rise?

Did you not read that I had rent controls in my proposal as well?
The property industry really needs a price crash

I may very well be mistaken: I don’t believe DA now represents the views of majority of Victorians. Which is really very strange on my part because I still can’t see him loosing the upcoming election. I’m confused.

I did acknowledge your comment, 'even where rentals are capped'.

I'm not arguing.
A correction is long overdue, a crash though will have generational consequences.

Can the Opposition muster a campaign that even touches Dans majority ?

I see. So state elections are a 4 year cycle. Next one is in Nov 2022, this year. And the next after that 2026. Andrews got elected in 2014. So that will be 12 years. Should be a tired government by then. Geez, 12 years.
We should vote for the libs just to remind us how useless and terrible they are :drunk:

I have no idea. I am feeling less connected to my State than I ever have.

youre probably experiencing a melancholic condition germans call weltschmerz ...... i experience something similar everytime i happen upon a toxic herald sun opinion piece .... or a hate-filled 3aw observation ..... or an unhinged sky news 'after dark' hit job ...... or the tin foil hat conspiracy theories of bat$hit crazy freedumb protestors whinging about the inconvenience of wearing a face mask ..... or the conservative rage behind whiny internet posts lamenting the passing of a beige coloured 1950s white picket fence world

Entertainment venues don't require a check in but a proof of vaccination. But checking in is the easiest way for some people to load up their vaccination proof

as mentioned, i think its for the "big" stuff. Just looked at the vic gov website to confirm:

QR code check in requirements only apply in vaccinated economy venues where you are currently required to show your vaccination status, such as:

  • hospitality and entertainment venues
  • adult/higher education
  • hair and beauty services venues
  • community premises
  • physical recreation venues.
All visitors, workers, students, and customers must check in before entering a vaccinated economy venue.

QR code check in requirements are no longer required in workplaces where checking the vaccination status of patrons is not required. These include retail premises e.g. supermarkets, schools (including childcare and early childhood), office-based workplaces or at places of worship.

This is from the foxsports article when the govt announced the changes on Feb 18 (so its AFL specific):

Attendees will at this stage still have to check in via QR codes and wear masks while moving around the venues, but not when sitting outdoors.

This is from the AFL website, its very general because its obviously national:

QR CODING TO SUPPORT CONTACT TRACING

To help support the state governments with record keeping for contact tracing, please ensure you 'check in' via the QR code in your zone (if applicable). Visitors can scan the QR code by opening up their smartphone’s camera and allowing it to focus on the code. You will then be required to record your name and mobile number to confirm your attendance within that location of the venue.

You can also download the free state government apps to help check in to a COVID-Safe venue (where applicable).

Dogs_R_Us if you're planning on going to the game (Im guessing you will), I'd just get the app so you dont have to downloaded on site (data can be complete shit at the MCG)

…because we’ve forgotten how useless and terrible Labor were. Rinse and repeat. 😀

I had forgotten that.

I know of at least a half a dozen stories where people rang 000 so that they would get through emergency quicker than going to hospital and waiting hours in emergency.
