It’s 2022 and politicians are still tweeting about themselves having covid.
Yeah because CT nutters would be totes fine with the Premier disappearing for a week.

It’s 2022 and we’re still worried about flog CTs.
You mean the ones that took over a Canberra show ground with their gastro and pink eye?

He's the Premier. Of course he is going to tell people what is going on. Model the proper behaviour in isolating. Don't be a goose.

I’d like to see Timmy Pallas given a go as head honcho while Danny is resting.

What are the isolation rules these days? Is he free after 7 days or does he have to do 7 days after every case in the house? I.e if Cath tests positive on Dans 7th day, does he have to do another week or is he free?

I know some people ended in isolation for a month under those rules but I think they were changed?

So Andrews has a meeting in his office with someone, announces a heap of funding for activities relating to the community to get votes, then this mob registers themselves as an entity with ASIC

A few highlights from the article below - this looks seriously dodgey

  1. Local bottle shop owner Luckee Koh attends a meeting in late July 2018 at Andrews office calling himself member of the “Australia India Strategy Group"
  2. A few weeks later, Mr Andrews announced Labor would, if re-elected in November 2018, spend tens of millions of dollars on initiatives which were claimed to be proposed by the group
  3. There is no direct evidence that the Treasury Place meeting and the funding commitments were linked, but the Australia India Strategy Group was quick to claim credit
  4. Australian Securities and Investments Commission records show that on August 6, 2018, a week after the Treasury Place meeting, the Australia India Strategy Group was registered as a business name for the first time

How the Premier’s local bottle shop owner claimed he won millions in projects
Point 3 is pretty important don't you think?

Otherwise, the whole premise is gone.

It would be about the 1,000th time that somebody gets a meeting with the Premier with a view to getting on the Govt gravy train and registers a business.

I'd be interested to see what the initiatives are and who benefits.

Na Dan would be free to get out of iso, even if Cath is positive on day 7. From my understanding, you just gotta do your 7 days.

If you don't test positive your iso resets with every new exposure

Close, he has to no longer have symptoms and be cleared by DHS as a positive case

He then gets 30 days iso free from new exposures

Has the SRL been costed and actually ready to begin? Just saw Jacinta complaining about a lack of federal government support and they were nearly ready to begin construction, but I didn't think they'd actually finished the business case nor come close to a cost yet?
they are starting construction this year, apart from that who would know, Governments have gotten into announcing Infra Projects and then if you are lucky doing a business case

they've got this up though I can't be bothered looking through it all, went up August last year

It's budget night tomorrow, of course they are going to bring up a lack of federal funding when the project is kicking off without a cent committed from the feds, especially when the project was first announced 4 years ago

That's the thing, it still reads like a wild pipedream with completely unrealistic costings, the Federal Government would be crazy to go into partnership for such a project with unknown costs.

Even the opposition haven't done much more than commit to the initial business case, but haven't heard anything from them supporting the actual build.

I guess their talk of beginning construction shortly made me wonder if we'd all missed something? Or are they planning to commit to a large scale construction project with no realistic costings on the eve of an election?

Speaking of fines, I just got my first ever speeding fine today; by mail. Apparently I was doing 52 in a 40 zone on a freeway. I’ve no recollection of the incident; it was obviously some sort of reduced speed scenario involving road works or the like. $363, that’s my contribution towards the $1 billion plus flushed away along with a range of other wasted ALP initiatives.

I’m happy to contribute towards overcoming Vic’s mismanagement related budget shortfalls, but will need to do some reflection on how to avoid repeating such stupid driving error in future,
