Get vaccinated and they’d have no issues.

Why should people who have the public interest at heart do the heavy lifting for these parasites?

So their choice is to be forced to take something that will make them feel shit and miss work for a few days every 3-4 months to protect against something they have a small chance of catching and a higher likelihood of having milder symptoms than the supposed ‘cure’?

Similar to his ploy with planning sector, he might offer to reform hospital and ambulance infrastructure and then base proposed reforms on condition that private medical entities channel % of profits to State government over and above income tax etc. :D
I'd get behind that. ****ing private health campaigners parasite off public hard work who then pull their asses out of the fire when the elective surgery goes wrong/ the psych patient becomes more agitated...

i mean people with the flu can get pneumonia and need an ambulance

but the problem is that if someone calls and needs transport to the hospital its going to be an ambulance pretty much no matter what the issue
they do assess and sometimes advise "you are well enough to go via a cab/ we can call one for you"

Ambulances are cooked again. Code red last night. 1% of ambos available before midfield.
WTF is going on…
if my hospitals issues are statewide, there are a lot of nurses out sick/ left profession and so ward beds are shut, leading to congestion in ED and inability to offload patients. We try to offload where we can (yes that includes chest pain/ possible heart attack with a normal ECG if they can get up and walk) but some patients aren't offloadable (in particular nursing home/ elderly patients with dizzy/ frail/ falls, just can't put them in the waiting room)

Stands to reason that people who had cold/flu symptoms taking themselves off to get PCR covid tests in 2020 and 2021 by and large had the cold/flu.

There's a health motive behind the messaging which is fair enough, but symptomatic people were never more likely to have Covid then a cold/flu in those years.
no, they didn't have the common cold viruses of flu virus as we (in the initial phases of pandemic) were testing for these at the same time and were getting nil.
our liat PCR machine is geared up to test for both covid and flu at the same time now.

Hopefully we can get through winter alright.

probably the princess tertiaries can, where staff have gone to. Higher amounts of staff, easier work, all that sort of thing.
our management are willing to hire more staff, just can't get anyone interested

Are you guys still coming across a lot of time wasters who don’t actually need an ambo?

other viruses that aren't colds or flus
or some with exacerbations of underlying heart failure, asthma
anxiety/ somatisation disorders
anaemia

and that's just for shortness of breath as your symptom...

I suppose I have a different view of time waster - the patient who comes back many many times over a month with the same issue because they don't take medication don't understand or can't get beyond their fear that this time the chest pain is serious even though they have been to the hospital already twice that week and had nothing found of concern. The really obviously "not unwell" will get put into waiting room, just like a walk in would, so don't contribute much to ambulance ramping.

I'd like to think management has learned a few lessons ...

Its not just management. You cannot just "manage" covid away and have no mitigation measures in place. Masks and access restrictions will continue to have a role (and lockdowns unfortunately)

While let it rip is great for all of us, aged care is still under very strict controls, and these won't be disappearing anytime soon

In most cases the feds are the management ….. still sitting on thier hands since the royal commission.

This is incorrect.

Most facilities are privately managed, with federal govt oversight

Any multi lane road over 80km/h actually
Only if there's a sign there. There are far more 80 km/h multi-lane roads in Melbourne where it doesn't apply than where it does.

I'm struggling to think of one where it still applies. Most 80 km/h roads are in built-up areas now with lots of turning movements and congestion meaning keeping left would be impractical and dangerous.

Nope. Sign or not it's keep left on an 80km/h road or above
ROAD SAFETY ROAD RULES 2017 - REG 130Keeping to the left on a multi-lane road

(1) This rule applies to a driver driving on a multi‑lane road if—

(a) the speed-limit applying to the driver for the length of road where the driver is driving is over 80 kilometres per hour; or

(b) a keep left unless overtaking sign applies to the length of road where the driver is driving.

80km/h and above or if there is a sign

They’re still human beings Gralin, their right to be regarded as such is also enshrined in that same Charter . They can and should be restricted where there is no other reasonable alternative means of protecting others. But if another way of achieving the same protection is available, it wouldn’t be appropriate to dismiss them in that way.
**** them, it's their choice to not get vaccinated society doesn't have to make allowances for them

So their choice is to be forced to take something that will make them feel shit and miss work for a few days every 3-4 months to protect against something they have a small chance of catching and a higher likelihood of having milder symptoms than the supposed ‘cure’?
one more time with this shit and you're out of the thread permanently

What is the cold?

Interesting.

I have learned something today.👍
hooray for learning
FYI last night on the roads there were a large combination of 70 in an 80 zone and 90 in an 80 zone people and it was ****ing annoying

Do we reckon this current covid wave is going up more slowly than the previous due to boosters? Hospitalisations are increasing but certainly not rapidly at all.
ICU and Vent numbers also very low.

You mean like working taxpayers paying for those on the dole?
There are more people looking for work than jobs
This is not an accident, this is by design, our current economic model has guaranteed unemployment built into it

demand for jobs vs demand for workers keeps wages down

work for the dole also exists to keep wages down, its funny how there are all these companies with work, that instead of employing someone they use work for the dole which means instead of taking someone off of welfare and paying them at least minimum wage, they take advantage of those people, make them do the work and don't pay them legal wages with full government support

Annoying how?

If the people doing 70 stay left, the people doing 90 stay right, and those doing 80 overtake in the right before moving left, everyone is happy. It's not difficult to be courteous on the roads.
