Re: Possible Green & Didak move (hypothetical)

I believe so, considering you need to free up some cap space as well as him being out of contract, thus allowing him to choose where he would want to go. I don't think its a bad offer, because you wouldn't have gotten more than a 2nd rounder, so a 3rd rounder + a servicable midfielder in his mid 20s with plenty of pace would do the deal.

You have to be kidding - Rhys Shaw (who they could get in the preseason draft for nothing if they were keen) and pick 45ish for one of their best three players?

Do you really believe Melbourne would use the #1 pick in the pre-season draft on Rhyce Shaw? I don't think so.

They'd take what they can get if one of their uncontracted players requested a trade to a particular club. How much do you think Brad Green is worth? A 2nd rounder in this draft?

Reckon Collingwood would accept that if that tables were turned?

Didn't think so.

Again, neither Melbourne, nor Collingwood, in that situation, would have much of a choice in the matter if the player in question, is uncontracted, it'd be that players call.

Remember Chris Judd last year?

Re: Possible Green & Didak move (hypothetical)

You would be better of trading Didak and our 2nd Rounder 29 for Pick 4 and there 2nd Rounder 22 which we would on trade for Green

Melbourne would prefer to use pick 1 in PS draft rather than in a trade for SFA. Here's the two situations from your idea -
- Trade Brad Green for Rhys Shaw and Pick 45ish

- Keep Green and get shaw PSD 1, keeping all picks but not having 45ish

Melbourne are not going to get screwed from Green so they can keep pick 1 in PSD "in case" Warnock and OKeefe get there, and if they do they will be more valuable than Shaw.

Agreed. I like Didak but to replace him with Green and have pick 4 and 11 would be a great outcome. Green not as good but this would be a win for us

i dont no if anyone has mentioned this already and i cant be stuff reading all the pages but do people think this trade will be good for us and would the kangas accept it

out josh fraser
in hamish mcintosh

i think its a even trade and at the moment we need a good ruckman not an alright half forward who can go in the ruck and not win a hitout.

How in the world do you consider this an even trade. If it was an even trade we wouldn't care if we made it our not. Both are rucks. One if a bigger body. Younger and better tap ruckmen. The other is older with an injury plagued body and who is a poor tap ruckmen (Fraser hit out stats a more of an indication that there are so many poor ruckmen then an indication he is good. He does orright against most the duds but good tap ruckmen really expose him.)

well for some reason people rate fraser. i dont cose for a ruckman his no good and his to inconsistant.
but because some people rate him in the league if north is throwing mcintosh up for trade why dont we try to get him. we might have to give them more then just fraser but i think its a good idea. only my opinion but

agree with macleodboy07 a ruckman of McIntoshs abilities, we should be aggressivley chasing, and even seaby as he would come alot cheaper. Fraser is no good as a ruckman and we should be playing him as a floater.
Getting McIntosh would be costly though so Id say go hammer and tong for Seaby and then show Bryan the door.

Yes maybe Byran isn't that great, but he has an alright season, he was in no means bad and Fraser is over-rated to the shit, he can't tap and ruck doesn't matter anyway these days no matter who wins the hitout any team can still get it. How did we win so many clearances otherwise?

everybody knows rhyce shaw wants out, but i heard he may be going to give in afl altogether? anybody know anything? where he might end up?

Some muppet just called SEN claiming we were going to trade our first round pick to St Kilda in return for James Gwilt, Xavier Clarke and their second round pick.

These ridiculous rumours crack me up and what made is funniest is that the ox said he wouldn't rule it out.

Jason Gwilt *shudders*. We wont trade our first rounder, this draft is just to good.

Crap deal, it would be worth to go after Xavier Clarke for 4th rounder lol. Maybe theyy will take it, if we can do a Medhurst style thing with him he'd be a gun =):D

Re: Harris for r shaw I hope!!!

What is the story with Harris anyway. An article on the weekend stated that the relationship between Harris and the club had broken down and both parties were wanting a trade however there seems to have been very little news and discussion on him at all this week.

Has anyone heard anything about him being shopped around at all? Are we even interested?

I was driving at the time that rubbish went to air, almost made me crash the vehicle! And on the Ox I think we all know he is a tool, just listening to him on 7s coverage for 5 minutes and Im ready to kick the TV across the room.

RHYCE Shaw's hopes of finding another home away from Collingwood appears unlikely, with the utility attracting no interest from other clubs.
North Melbourne pair Daniel Harris and Corey Jones are also likely to remain at Arden St.
Harris wanted out of the Kangaroos after the breakdown of his relationship with coach Dean Laidley.
But manager Liam Pickering said Thursday Harris accepted he might have to return to the Kangaroos next year.
The contracted Jones could yet find himself at Sydney if Ryan O'Keefe does find a new home.
The Kangaroos want a second-round pick for Harris, but that is unlikely to eventuate.
