The Gibcus injury is a *en disgrace
Wasted a whole critical year of development bc of bush league level rehab. * off!
You have his case file and know exactly the symptoms he’s been dealing with? And any uncontrollable setbacks he’s been dealing with?
Yes, on face value, it’s crazy how long he’s been out but without knowing his case history and advice from specialists, it’s unfair to pot any of the clubs medical and rehab staff Imo.

Just going by what the club is communicating. Straight from the horses mouth he said a minor setback with a minor strain so we'll hold him back a little. 6 weeks later its still 4-6 weeks. If something changed, ie he redid it badly, then just say it and we move on. Its the BS double speak that is frustrating the hell out of me and others.

Same thing happened with Lynch - 6 weeks ago he said we saw the specialist and got some very very good news. and yet 6 weeks later its season over and more surgery.

Last update we had on him was from 10/7, which said he had an important scan next week to determine where he's at.

So I guess we'll see him either progress into the main group or be ruled out for the year some time next week.

Article also fails to mention his time on Hawthorns list and SA state league footy
All should be at least mentioned when referring to Tucks career
It’s disingenuous for only Richmond to be mentioned when referring to him as a player imo

I was a big fan of Tucky and I don't remember him ever getting KO'd on the footy field. If they reckon regular body contact is causing it imagine the sort of CTE a perennial concussion victim like McCartin could be looking at.
The unfortunate thing in our sport atm, are the concussion standards and rules. Ex AFL/VFL players taking the game or clubs to court because of it won’t help either. What needs to happen to improve this, longer time off with this condition?

It's only diagnosable in an autopsy apparently. Not sure how you can take clubs to court when no one knew it existed and players choose to play footy.
Clubs aren't making campaigners headbutt eachother at training.

what about the boxing ko's post career though ?
Why would you take up boxing in 2015-17 if this was happening to you?

The former player’s widow, Katherine Tuck, had first reported worrying changes in her husband’s behaviour from as early as 2006, with his first neurological assessments occurring in 2008, due to him reporting dizziness and forgetfulness, the court heard. His mental health episodes escalated in severity over the last decade of his life, resulting in multiple admissions to hospital as a psychiatric inpatient.

Gibcus is back doing some training according to Lord Caesar

Great to read Tarrant still around the club
Would be interesting to see if he sticks around next year in a coaching role
