Oh, they played one of those stupid internationals tonight didn't they? I had a car battery to lick so couldn't find me the time. Who won?
Grizz, the spectators won, well those who saw Vlad squirming in his seat as the two teams continued to belt the **** out of each other with cheap shots.

A rabble.

we're told state of origin doesn't work because of injuries yet playing a meaningless IR series is ok?

That's the bit that annoys me. The only reason we are not playing SOO is because of the risk of injury to key players

Why then are we allowing 30 guys to risk injury in a pointless game.

The game has no purpose.

Please bring back SOO. Only having one game a year is fine with me.

It's hybrid rules.

If they played real Gaelic Football they'd get beaten by 150 points.

The 1967 series was played with only one rule adjustment from Gaelic, and the Aussies won comfortably.

Hope the series is scrapped after this though. Glad Bernie and Dougie got through unscathed.

Would have been very awkward for him. Majority of the players (from both sides) were like rabid dogs. Seriously the most ****ed up and pointless....whatever it is (sport i guess) ever.

Was embarrassing seeing piss weak attempts of toughness by Aussies like Robinson, Ward, Nicoski, Monfries, Green etc. In the AFL, only Robinson displays that kind of stuff. Holy shit I was embarrassed for them.

They must all feel so shit right now.....Beaten by semi-overweight amateurs for skill, then when they try and fight for a win, they lose that too....

Next time Australia need to pick guys with bigger penises, so they don't have to compensate by fighting.....Didn't see Nahas in any fights...

Agree. The plastic tough guys like Nicoski trying to constantly pick fights all night was the most embarrassing part.

they didnt play a national selection, only a couple of teams. and it wasnt full on Gaelic rules either.

and in any case, what does a game in 1967 have to do with games that are played today?

Someone will get sent to the naughty corner at AFL house next week then.

It's the only sample we have, is it not? Plus both groups were amateur back then, and the Aussie side was a VFL contingent iirc. Also it was full on Gaelic rules bar the chip-it-to-yourself while running rule, I think. They might've been able to pick the ball up off the ground too, though I'm leaning towards no on that.

So the two most difficult skills that are involved in the game.

Take those away and the game is actually incredibly easy to play.

It really is a load of rubbish even though Andy D & mates tell us it is popular. I managed to watch about 8 minutes of it before I had to switch over. If they really want to get some interest in it, let's play with a round ball and softck rules in the 1st game. Then game 2 we play with an Aussie Rules footy with a little more contact. Let's face it, it's only 1/2 a step above soccer.

Mitch Robinson is pathetic. Embarrassed himself tonight.

Not really. He may have started fights every few seconds, but at least he could win them. The guys who embarrassed themselves were guys like Nicoski, Milne and Wood who kept starting fights and then losing them.

Let's face it, if you think that you don't know crap about sport.

Well played Ireland.

This series makes the All Australian look like a complete joke. Why bother making an All Australian side, when the one time they can represent the country, none of the AA players actually play?? Can you imagine any other code doing this??

The pathetic attempts to fight makes it even more embaressing.

Either take it seriously or just scrap it.

Mitch Robinson is pathetic. Embarrassed himself tonight.

Your petty hatred is showing ..Mitch was one of the few Aussie players who showed a bit of spine over the series ...he was willing to at least put his body on the line and take a few hits ..unlike a few of his team mates who was just out to get a few cheap shots in ...Callum Ward needs to hang his head in shame ....very very un Australian was the behaviour of a few of the Aussie players .

Lets put an end to this farcical game ...the Australians selectors picked a team of easy beats so as to not once again embarrass the Irish into taking their bat and ball and going home ..and it has backfired on them big time ...nobody is interested in watching players like nahas Grigg Nickoski monfries shiels milne etc play that dead boring game.

Pull the pin on it now !

*ps Suckling is the worst goal keeper to ever represent the country ....he can drop kick a round ball ..big deal ...the rest of the time he is like a statue .

Mitch Robinson what a tosser all he did was pick fights for the entire match why doesn't he just take up boxing and show he tough he really is

What a pity this series was such a damp squib. I was at last years game in Dublin and it was good to see your Capt Goodes, Swanny, Betts etc (a good athletic Aussie team) beat our lads.

It looks like this years AFL selection was tier 3 players with no preparation for the round ball etc. Probably the AFLs fault rather than the players.

I know the series is seen as pointless and many on both sides say why. I say why not as its a chance for both codes to have a game with imperfections in rules and all. Series is probably dead now.

Reaction is muted in Ireland too.

But hey yee lost and dont care, we won and dont care, yeve got sun, we've got rain, our currency is going under, we're broke, anyone got a spare visa :)

Your petty hatred is showing

Your "Carlton players can do no wrong" blinkers are showing.

The chest thumping stuff is embarrassing when we are getting flogged on the scoreboard. Mitch should spend less time over-imposing himself in situations that don't call for it. Get the ball perhaps?

if you picked all your AA side you wouldnt win, some of them would be to big and awkward for this faster type game. you need a mixture of both. jack riewold was brilliant in ireland last year as was adam goodes. it has a year brak now so we will all be ready for it in 2 yrs time!
