Its Time For Trigg To Resign.

I am saying that changes need to be managed as is being done the board is being turned over over the next 18 months to 2 years Trigg will leave at the completion of this season.

Calls to sack everyone are easy to make as they are populist but then you need to replace people and the quality suffers greatly as you can't choose the best people to take over as you don't have time so you end up with a below average board and CEO which will cause a worse outcome at which point everyone wants to sack the board again causing a downward spiral.
You must hate democracy.

I only heard the end of 5aa talking about Trigg, was there any news?

Crows ambassador Dillon once again stated that because we we winning, no one is complaining

Just a technicality, if Trigg hadn't signed off on the "dodgy deal", we wouldn't have been in a position to be offered White and Sydney's pick, as Tippett would have walked 2 years earlier.

Should've traded with Brisbane - like Rendell wanted.

Yes, Kim Dillon alluded to him having had lunch with caro last week. Just in case you were wondering where her mail was coming from, straight from the horses(ass)'s mouth, it seems. Looks like she's not much brighter thanrooch when when it comes to disseminating pro-trigg propaganda.

On that matter, tuned in last night to aa and it was cornes and someone else who I fail to recall. Apparently both bone and Rowe are on leave. Tonight was Dillon and someone else as well. So at aa it appears as though it's both or neither. Are they such a perfect combo that without either to support the other, their opinions become worthless. Or is their some huge event that hasn't quite reached the outback towns yet. In before electricity.

What I would like to know is....

In 2003 when Steven Trigg too over, what was the clubs revenue, profit and football department spend then to make a direct comparison what our revenue, profit and football spend was in 2013.

If we haven't made an improvement, why not

In 2003:

Club, Revenue, Profit, Loss, Debt, Football department spending

Adelaide : unknown

In 2013 it was

Club, Revenue, Profit, Loss, Debt, Football department spending.

Adelaide $34.3m - $1.8m None N/A $17.6m -

Not sure if we did in the past, but we were one of only 2 (I think) clubs who chose not to publish footy dept spend last year.

I found in this annual report that in 2008 our football revenue was $24,426,095 and in 2009 it was 24,963,994. Reading that HS article it says our football revenue had dropped to $17.6 million.

Not that I agree with the premise of his post - but Tippett was going to the Suns as part of their concessions - we would have got a compo pick + we would have kept Bock.

The premise was just that Jesse White and Sydney's pick wouldn't have been the option. We would have got something from GC, or Brisbane, or probably a first round compensation pick if GC picked him up instead of Bock. You just can't say that any shenanigans cost us White and Sydney's pick.

There it is, the final comment of a vacuous troll.
I have been copping abuse for not being a sheep all a day you have given nothing you say Trigg was bad before tippet yet we have 15000 more members today than when he became ceo . $10 000 000 more in revenue since 2007 the year before the gfc.

Could be different treatment as there's probably no absolute standard for reporting footy revenue/spend. While you're investigating, can you rustle up the the total revenue for 2008/9 and, if possible, whether there were any govt or afl grants identified within or outside those amounts. Was the HS $17.6m amount from 2013 and what was the total revenue in that year?

I'm sure with a few of the analytical posters here it won't be too hard to make some sense of the (un)published info.

Only answering to the membership statement. I have lived in alice springs since 1998. I have never been a member, but the adelaide oval got the better of me and I now have 2 essential gold memberships. I purchased these despite trigg continuing as CEO and the boards continued act of self-preservation. Don't underestimate the role ao has played in the increased membership tally.

The average since Trigg took over is 7000 - 5000 more than in the previous years depending on when you take the average

I'm doing this whist the wife is watching Glee. So happy to do the extra research.

Total revenue for 2008: $33,451,318
Total revenue for 2009: $30,097,575

Government grants: a player facility grant worth $6,812,672 and a SANFL player facility grant worth $350,000

Total: $7,162,672

AFL grants: no AFL grant given. Well, I couldn't find any for that year.

Total revenue for 2013: $34.4 million.

Rob Chapman: Nigel Smart is not the only one who could replace Steven Trigg as Crows CEO

IT’S no longer a one-horse race to replace Steven Trigg as CEO of the Adelaide Football Club.

With Nigel Smart moving from the board into the newly created chief operating officer, many presumed he was the heir apparent.

Not so, according to chairman Rob Chapman, with three current staff all potential appointments.

“Nigel has had a great opportunity to expand his role and skillset while David Noble has also been elevated to the number one in football and he’s a quality person,” he said.

Chapman has also thrown general manager of human resources Kate Berry into the mix. If appointed, she would be the first female head of the club.

“We appointed her 18 months ago and she’s been fantastic leader and would definitely be considered,” Chapman said.

“We’ve got plenty of depth there but that’s not to say you still also wouldn’t cast the net far and wide because you have to find the very best person available to run this footy club.”

So there you have it. Down to three. I'm glad we're casting the net far and wide.

To be fair, he listed 3 and said "that’s not to say you still also wouldn’t cast the net far and wide"

How is Noble supposed to be head of football and CEO? Surely that's way too much of a workload.

“We’ve got plenty of depth there but that’s not to say you still also wouldn’t cast the net far and wide because you have to find the very best person available to run this footy club.”

So he's saying the right things about looking elsewhere

Pretty crazy that Chapman comes out and says exactly what people want him to be saying (whether his actions live up to his words remains to be seen) and people are still here complaining about it.

Chapman isn't going to name the CEOs at other clubs or in other business they're thinking of approaching, that would be lunacy. He's given alternatives to Smart (which you think would be unlikely) and then specifically said that they'll look outside as well.

We've also started making losses, have no reserves and are stony assed broke. We've fallen behind the rest of the league and are no longer seen as a big club. Your cool story bro just gets cooler :thumbsu:

Stabby want to bet Smart is our next CEO?
