J.Mcgovern Vs Weitering

I would like to discuss these two players side by side.

They both play nearly similar roles they swing forward and backwards. They are nearly identical players.

- They both are good marks
- They both are relatively clean
- They both can wing fwd and backwards

Which one of those players would you prefer based off potential in the future years.

One was pick one and the other was a rookie draft
One is future captain and other was an all australian

Is weitering aspiring to be mcgovern or is weitering an upgraded version of mcgovern.

Given how much more developed McGovern is- it's a no brainer now. It would be like asking whether you would have preferred McGovern over someone like Hurley in 2012.

Ask this question in 3 years, when Weitering has a chance to develop some more.

If you wanted a potentially fairer poll, you might look at a Weitering v Moore, given Moores ability to go back as well as forward pre-draft.

mcgovern is 25 and has been is in his 7th year at the Eagles. He was physically developed at 22 when he debut. He could have potentially debut earlier he was more professional.

I didn't watch the game i really don't know who is better. I feel that weitering is based off pick one

McGovern is playing so much better now. Deserving of AA. He is performing in a better team with heaps of support and is more experienced. Injuries have given him a hard time, but he still manages to pull though amazingly.

Weitering is only in his second year, currently battered and bruised with a heap of pressure on him to be our number one forward and number one defender. Deserving of pick 1 and he'll eventually fight his way back with the right teammates beside him, but right now he is really struggling.

If we are talking about who will be better in 5+ years time, many will say Weitering but if we were comparing them right now, it would pretty much be a pointless discussion.

Depends how we develop Weitering. Could be one of the best CHB's in the comp, but has the ability to become an elite forward as well.

Looks better coming up the ground and providing a rebound option, but with some development, might add some strings to his bow as a forward. Knows how to co-ordinate plays and use peripheral players.

Barrass played forward in his junior. Also kicked a few goals late when swung forward for EP in round one. He has yet to be tried at AFL. Your draft number becomes irrelavant after you have been drafted. Barrass is one of the best young KPP players going around and is better than some other KPP that were drafted before him.
