IT'S TIME for Richmond to unleash Jack Riewoldt.
To let him have his head, to encourage him to go looking for some "me time".
To allow him to gesticulate and arm-wave at his teammates.
To ensure he's directed a whole lot more inside-50 footy than he has been getting to this point of the 2013 season.

I'm dubious. Its from Damien Barrett. This is surely, surely... a rope a dope tactic to make Reiwoldt and Richmond look like a bunch of twats.

Barrett, idiot trying to add fuel to the fire, doesn't normally write football related articles, getting to much air time this muck-raker.

Agree Greggy !! I posted on another thread not realising this one but just more **ap ! From the MEEEEJA, where the reporters are the main focus, more MEEEEE !! time from those.....................

I actually thought he made some good points. Jack doesn't seem to play with any of his previous flair or natural instincts he once had. Does seem like he is trying really hard to curb his natural game.

Well Jack is still 2nd in Coleman race, and what Barrett doesn't realise is that he is playing a ROLE for the team, much more important than running around yelling MEMEMEME!. yes he would kick more goals, but all he has to do is look 3 years into the past and see that JR8 kicking bags of goals doesn't equate to success.

JR8 is playing team role and with that, he, and the team, will have more success.

So despite the loss to North, we are tracking the exact same win/loss path as 2001. I think that we lost to Hawks and then Port at the same stage. And despite all of the team first teachings, that are having a positive impact on the ladder position, DB says - throw that out and do it in a different fashion. I know it is an opinion piece, but it doesn't say much for his opinion does it.

Agree, it's just a rubbish opinion piece IMO. It smacks of Damian Barrett needing to write a Richmond article with a new angle. Surely the Tiges are more unpredictable and better off kicking more often to other taller options in the forward line. I would trust Dimma and his team over DB anytime.

Yeah he may have made some valid points Morro but I'd trust that guy's concern for JR and Richmond as far as I can throw him.

Mcclueless stated on 360 he doesn't like the fact that jack didn't lead but FFS how do you lead into a crowded fwd line( and from what I remember he did lead but unfortunately so did all our other fwds AND all the nth backs as well) plus the fact that our system doesn't play a traditional fwd structure or CHF and we have a crowded fwdline anyway.

Nothing new from Barrett, he's been championing this since the Freo game.

I'm not convinced he actually knows anything about football, but I DO know that when Jack's got his confidence up mid-game, I want everyone to get the **** out of the forward line and give him some space.

I know that's not how footy's played these days, but damn, how many times do we have 3 blokes all leaping for the same ball then spoiling each other? Drives me nuts.

Apart from last week, Jack doing what he needs to, and we are/were travelling nicely.
