I may get in some strife for this but feel like it needs to be said.

I and many others I know have used the word Clarkson used flippantly as a word to describe someone who's being an ass, or an idiot (pick your word here). Whilst I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I've personally never heard it really used as to describe someone for its literal definition (or as a homophobic slur). What Finlayson said, there is no conjecture about what that means, everyone knows exactly what that word is and who it upsets.

It's why Clarksons punishment will be the standard for approaching a player in the manner that he did, not for the word he used.

If you are Finlayson / Port you could feel you've been treated much harsher. AFL consistency at it's best.

He was pretty lucky tbh.

Geez I think this punishment is completely way over the top. Finlayson stuffed up but his actions in the immediate aftermath suggests this was more of a slip of the tongue rather than directed with malice.

I think an education based program rather than several game punishment has considerably more value here.

The AFL gave Taylor Walker 6 games for a racial slur.

Not going to compare the two but it’s clear they won’t accept this sort of crap from their players.

If the AFL is serious they should put out a notice the next person sanctioned for such an incident will be 10 weeks.

whether you think he deserves 1,2,3 or 15 weeks depends where you sit on the wowser spectrum, some will not care whereas others will think this is the worst thing since someone shot Bambi.

This is on the AFL , and of course Port Adelaide know who their masters are and will cop it because its JF, but if it was Connor Rozeee or Zak butters being sanctioned, no doubt they would be appealing

with all do respect the amount of people downplaying the seriousness of what Finlayson did on your board is abysmally sad and seems to be the overwhelming majority.

Instead of focusing of what he actually did it's all about whatabout clarko or whatabout something else.
