John Anthony vs Jay Neagle

I was having a discussion on another website regarding Anthony and Neagle. For mine, Anthony is the better player, bias aside. The gentlemen I was discussing it with believes Neagle has shown just as much as Anthony; I beg to differ. Who do you believe to be is the better player between the two?

John Anthony has this one easily at the moment.

Neagle is bigger, possibly stronger.

Anthony is a better set shot, better at ground level, can play down back, leads better.

Anthony is just currently a far more effective player.

Has shown that he can be, at the very least, a handy consistent forward.
Neagle has the potential to be the better player.
Has more x-factor about him and presence.
Both are VERY good shots at goal but Anthony is close to the best in the AFL.
For some reason Neagle just can't take the next step, and looks disinterested.
I'd take Anthony because you're guaranteed a good player.

Jack Anthony so badly it isn't funny. Neagle has had a lot of games where he only gets like 3 possessions while Anthony has been playing consistantly for a good while now. Not to mention, he's one of the most accurate kicks in the comp.

How is it a bad poll? Both men are Full Forwards, both are of similar age (2 day difference), are of similar height (Neagle heavier) and have only an 8 game difference between them. They both play the 3 forward option, although, Anthony has been the main forward since Rocca and Cloke have been out with injuries.

Anthony is clearly better.
Anthony is winning in a land slide.
Even Essendon supporters aren't arguing that.
I'd take Anthony in a heartbeat.

I don't think you could get a much better comparison, given the reasons already stated.

Anyway, Anthony pretty comfortably IMHO.

Anthony is currently better, if neagle gets fit, he will be much better player, but thats a big IF.

Anthony has anticipation, intelligence and footy smarts that Neagle does not have. Neagle can get as big and strong as he likes, it won't make up for that fact.

Neagle has the smarts, he's just a fat c***. If i was asked this last year I would've said Neagle, but he just hasn't come on.

On the other side Anthony is turning into a quality player.

Anthony pretty comfortably, Neagle has the turning circle of the QM2.
