Sad day for us. Sorry Hawks, but the Kennedy name belongs to Sydney now. Does he have any sons?

A shame his last game is more than likely the Carlton one. Would've been great to go out on his own terms, but alas, not to be.

There was a soccer player named Josh Kennedy as well I think.
yes. Otherwise known as Jesus. Not sure why? A Socceroo who scored 17 goals for his country

Long live all the Josh Kennedy's. They may be gone but we will never forget them and all the moments of glory they gave to football

Way to steal a blokes thunder after he kicked 8 and retired on the weekend!

The last couple of years probably overshadowed what a seriously good player he became when he moved to Sydney.

This

Was a bit down last couple of years and some games I watched He has clearly past it

Special player. Absolute bull at the contest. Probably deserved another AA jersey.

Will be missed

The Tom Lynchs would be up there, I presume?

Sam Butlers are worth keeping an eye on, depending on how long the new Hawthorn one sticks around.

The inferior Tom Lynch (apologies Crows, North and Saints fans) has only played 164 games so far.

Does Tyson Stenglein and Tyson Stengle count?

Josh Kennedy
290 games, 157 goals (277 games for Sydney: 6th all-time)

Premiership player 2012
3x Club Champion 2012, 2015, 2016
3x All Australian 2012, 2014, 2016
Sydney Swans Captain 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020
2x Brett Kirk Medal 2012, 2015
Sydney Swans Best Clubman 2020
4x Swans Players’ Player (2012, 2015, 2016, 2017)
4x Swans Best in Finals (2010, 2013, 2015, 2016)
Gary Ayres Award 2016
Geez, what did Sydney give back to Hawthorn for Kennedy and McGlynn (127 games, 167 goals) ????

Picks 39, 46, 70 !!!!

Damn! One of the biggest trade week steals ever.

His 2016 GF performance in a loss is up there as one of the best in the AFL era.
Dead unlucky not to win the Norm Smith Medal. He was the dominant player on the ground for most of the afternoon.
Can you imagine the uproar if the Bulldogs had broken their 62 year drought and they announced a Sydney Swan as the Norm Smith recipient?

How does Josh rank versus Dad and Pa as a player?

I know the answer. Who wants to try?

Owns the one year too long thread this year but an absolute champion. One of my favourites.

No apologies necessary. The plan had always been to kidnap the other Tom Lynch and swap them and then claim that the other Tom Lynch was always the one we drafted. Unfortunately Gold Coast was too crafty and we could never get him alone.

Better than his old man IMO. John Senior played half the amount of games of both and made his mark with coaching. An incredible footballing family.
