Kennedy easily. Nablett doesnt look confident in the seniors, but Kennedy looks like a strong, confident young man.

Kennedy shown very little besides potential and a strong mark

ABlett shown very little besides potential and a great kick.

both seem to have trouble finding the ball at senior level, but both should become very good players. I voted Ablett, but onl because he's an Ablett and has that freakish ability that will one day come through.

Didnt Ablett kick 4 goals in the 1st half of his 1st game?? I think hes shown alot more than Kennedy has, hes kicked more goals in 1 half of football than Kennedy has in his career

It would come down to Ablett's mindset. He has the genes and potential, but also has some of his dad's negative characteristics. Hopefully, he gets better guidance than his dad and lives up to his potential.:thumbsu:

As far as voting, put this question up in another two years.

Didn't a young man called McGrath kick 5 goals on debut for Richmond and then get delisted at the end of the season or the next season.. My point is one half of Football doesn't make him better. Have you ever seen Carlton play with Kennedy? He has a lot of Wayne Carey about him the way he goes at the packs hard and has a good set of hands, Not a goalscorer yet but still a long way ahead of Ablett

Unless hes doing something with other players wives there is no similarity whatsoever. Looked okay in the ressies but leave the Carey comparisons alone son until he at least gets a kick at senior level
Must of missed his second game last season where he kicked 2 goals and took about 8 marks vs Essendon... I'm not comparing him talent-wise to Carey I'm saying he hits the packs Carey-Esque

Good post. The jury's still out.

Kennedy is only 18 and was asked to play CHF for part of last season with a team that was awful. He hasn't done much yet, but can you blame him!!!!
KPP take a little time. He has a big body, that will get bigger, seems to crash packs hard and has a good pair of hands.
I think he will show glimpses over the next few years, and become a key player after he turns 21. Potentially a 300 game player.

Ablett could be anything. Seems to look a little lethargic and lazy at times. Obviously had issues becoming an AFL player in the first place. Think his biggest problem will be mental. Has shown brilliance, and the fact that dad and brother are freaks, means he is likely to become pretty special as well.

Fairly even. Doubt either team would consider a swap.

If Kennedy's lauded work-ethic is anything to go by, he's probably the more sure of the two to go and and make something of himself.

Pfft...are you serious? Despite Nablett being 2 years older, and in his second year of footy, the 18 year old Josh Kennedy still managed more games than him as well as kicking equal goals/behinds. Had Ablett not been an Ablett, he wouldn't be rated in the least, joke of a comparison as all will see once Kennedy becomes one of the league's best CHF and Ablett is seeing out the end of his mediocre career in the Geelong reserves.

just thought I'd bump this for now, still an interesting comparison.

Id take Kennedy. Taking a little while, but big units like that sometimes do. Will become a huge power forward like a Hall or Brown.
See Ablett as more a skinnier flanky type with amazing skills.
Josh comfortably for me.
