Good poll. Both hugely entertaining to watch at their respective bests, and for mine both sit just under the top echelon of champions.

Impossible to shelve bias but would have to take Kouta for his ability to turn it on in big games...also influenced very much by the fact that Richo didn't get to play in enough big games.

Both had their peaks cut short by injury, both incredible athletes and match winners on their day. I picked Richo based mainly on the amount of times he tore Fremantle apart over the years, he had some ridiculous days out against us. Kouta was something to behold though when he was on song, robbed of the brownlow in 2000.

I'd say Kouta at his peak would be a better player, and at his peak there wouldn't be many players he wasn't better than. Though I'm a bit young to remember all their careers but would it be wrong to say that whilst Koutas peak was better, Richo played at a high level longer than Kouta due to his injuries?

Just wondering when Richmond supporters actually consider Richo was at his peak? Was it the 91 goal season in '96, the consistent footy in '04-'05 or the outstanding season on the wing in '08?

Kouta's best was about as good as I have seen in the 20+ years I have been watching football. It was a terrible shame for the entire footballing community that his career was cruelled by injury.
