This past month, every single thing that could go wrong for West Coast has gone wrong. We have not had a shred of luck, so much so that I suspect that right about now, Ken Judge is cackling maniacally and sticking pins in a John Worsfold Mannequin.
If we're going to put together a credible finals series, we need our bad luck to end now. If anyone has any line at all with the occult powers or the man upstairs, now is the time to employ them. If you have any sort of lucky charm, or conversely the ability to jinx things, you MUST put that ability to work for West Coast this week.
For me, the first thing I'm going to do is delete any mention of West Coast players from my voodoo signature. Last year, I had some comment about Troy Wilson as my sig file. The week after I put it in, we got thrashed by St Kilda, and Wilson broke his collarbone and has basically fallen out of the team and destroyed his career since then. This year, I put something about Embley in, and once again, the poor sob breaks his collarbone, and our season goes down the toilet
2 players, 2 sigs, 2 broken collarbones, 2 ruined seasons
Uncanny.
I think the only thing to be done is to use the power of the voodoo signature for good instead of evil.
I plan to replace any mention of Andrew Embley with a tribute to, say, Mark Ricciuto immediately.
Also, I don't think I'll wash the Eagles shirt i wore to the derby for a week. The stench of failure and sweat will still be on it next weekend, hopefully wafting its way to Adelaide, and doing its bit to spur the boys on, or at the very least guaranteeing me the couch to myself to watch the game.
So, what do you all have?? Last game of the year, can't hold anything back.
