Tuck has re-signed with Richmond (I'm sure he was mentioned somewhere in this thread)

Port still very interested in Moloney according to The Age. Gold Coast are keen too.

The only thing I don't like about this story is that we've apparently offered Thomas a contract.

Hahahaha. He took 5 contested marks this year. Fantastic!

Matt Thomas bust his guts for this club at ever chance he gets, when off the fild he is a great ambassador for us yet people on this board talk nothing but crap about him.

No wonder with everything else that is going on good quality people like this want out.

So we have Chaplin, Surjan, Pearce, Jacobs, Thomas and others all looking for a trade? What happened there? Seems the club doesn't want to give them long enough deals?

and obviously Logan, Sal, maybe Rodan gone too. Wont have many 25+yos on the list next year.

Where has all this been at least rumored?

The reality is, Matt Thomas isn't even a good average footballer he is an average footballer.

Yes he is a nice guy, a fantastic guy by all accounts but do we fill our list full of average players because they are nice blokes? No.

Matt Thomas is not going to play in our next premiership side and he is not the sort of player who is going to grab young kids by the scruff of the neck and drag them up to the next level of player because he just isn't capable of it. Not because he doesn't want to, because he can't.

I like the guy and I admire his endeavour and courage but if we can get something for him then lets take it. Now.

Heartless? Yes, but that is the industry we are in.

Hardly think Thomas is the biggest blight on our list like many make it out to be.

But we need to resign Surj and Pearce big time.

Lets be honest tho.. thinking about it i would prefer Thomas in my team over dom. But i guess that cant happen for obvious reasons....

Pearce and Surj must be resigned! ASAP!
Surj and pittard down back as small shut down defenders with some actual run coming out!

Diddums. This is the AFL, if you're not good enough it doesn't matter how nice you are or how hard you try. Thomas isn't good enough.

I agree with this, Dom has slowed down so much plus his disposal is even worse that Matty Thomas'.

It probably isn't a stretch, but I reckon Dom will not be captain in 2013, hence he'll lose that gold pass.

Who do I want in the team out of Matt, Dom & Tom, Matt every time.

Yep, I want to see Danyle & Surj retained.

I don't get where this Surj leaving stuff has come from. Yes Surj had a poor 2011 season but his 2012 was excellent until he got injured - if we lose Surj it would surely only be to retirement and not to another AFL club. It's madness that we would consider letting him go.

People like thomas are scape goats for our crappy draphting , we have one outside footballer andthe rest inside .

dont be so sure......

**** off Richmond.
Sure, if we are going to bend Richmond over again ala the Thompson trade, I don't think even I would be unhappy. Otherwise, Richmond can go and get screwed.

Matt doesn't perform to his potential in nearly any of his games, which is a massive problem for him. He still has a decent impact on most games though, and he is one of our only players who can win the inside ball, take a tackle and dish it off, he is also fantastic overhead for a short guy. However, his decision making can be very poor, he has an inconsistent disposal (its good most of the time, but sometimes he tries to do something too hard and messes up), and is a horrible shot at goal. Basically, he is inconsistent.

Despite his faults I still believe he is important to the future of this club, not because he will be our best player (he won't, ever) but because at worst he will turn up every week and do his job, and at best he will be a very good player.
If Richmond get him cheap, they could end up extremely happy.
We gave you pick 42 for that trade and you got Mitchell Banner, i'd say we both got bent over, wouldn't you agree?

We hold on to Surj if we can but if worse comes to worse maybe thats the trade for Stevens from West Coast...maybe a win to them short term but ok for us long term

Could Urquhart re-find some of that early glimpses he showed at a new club, did start quite well in the AFL only to fall from grace at a rapid rate

I heard we were going to trade for Pendlebury until Urguhart got de-listed and now we are looking to pick him up instead.

The club had a good look at Urquhart last year and decided not to draft him. Considering that he hasn't been anywhere near getting a game with North Melbourne this year, I doubt they would've changed their minds.
