Burton sounds like a gun and I also like the look of Curnow, seems like that athletic, big bodied utility that could be anything.

I agree, this has been the strategy utilised by the Hawks, Geelong, Sydney, West Coast and ourselves (Schulz and Ryder). The issue is that we have 3 talls we want to play forward in Schulz, Ryder and Westhoff and these three are all here for at least one more year. If we were to trade for a Hawkins/Dixon/Day/Lycett/Other KPF that is often mentioned, where do they play? Would we drop Lobbe and play Ryder permanently in the ruck? Would we push Schulz into retirement? Does Westhoff go to a wing? I am not saying we shouldn't and very much agree with your sentiment, just questioning how this would work for our current list.
Ryder hasn't been in the team for a few weeks and they are still stinking it up. I don't think he's to blame for their slumpThe reality is Schulz can't hold down the KPF role by himself and neither Ryder or Westhoff can support him consistently. Lobbe isn't working ATM for some reason and Redden's return still has question marks.
Our defence looks fine with Trengove, Carlile and Hombsche. So we have 3 out of 6 talls sorted.
Personally I see the Ryder trade as a net negative ATM as both Lobbe and Westhoff seem to be operating well below par with the change in dynamics of the team structure.
First few games of the year he was handy while Lobbe was out as well.Ryder hasn't been in the team for a few weeks and they are still stinking it up. I don't think he's to blame for their slump

NahAaron Black linked with Port in an article on fox sports. Is he worth looking at? 192cm, not sure what he's worth though and he is Western Australian.

Not sure. We certainly would look at him. We haven't signed Jay yet. He's not likely to cost anything as far as picks go. Going to take a couple of years to get 50 games into any player we develop. Don't see any harm in picking him up?Aaron Black linked with Port in an article on fox sports. Is he worth looking at? 192cm, not sure what he's worth though and he is Western Australian.
I'll tell you the harm. Not sure. We certainly would look at him. We haven't signed Jay yet. He's not likely to cost anything as far as picks go. Going to take a couple of years to get 50 games into any player we develop. Don't see any harm in picking him up?
Gus and Paddy under a cloud next year Jay unsigned. For mine Gus and Paddy are out for half the season at least. If the worse case scenario comes to fruition Black is a useful pick up.I'll tell you the harm.
How good a player Harvey Howard and Shaw will be come 2018+
Either A grade prospect or develop the KPF's we have

While at my wife's netball game tonight, I didn't know who he was but I recognised Kane Mitchell, Andrew Moore, Hamish Hartlett and Paddy Ryder watching their g/f's and wives playing...but the big bloke with the cap? I just couldn't work it out from the other side of the court. Couldn't picture a Port player that looked like that. After the game my young son and his friend wanted a pic with Ryder, who obliged, and the big bloke was still hanging around. As I studied him a little more the tattoo on the inside of his left arm was a dead giveaway. It could be read as "Mother" one way and "Darlene" the other. I knew who he was.
.......Jake Carlisle is in town and hosted by Paddy Ryder.
Who won netball?
Would be a great get, for the right price
We love West Australians and Carlile and Carlisle in the same team would mentally break most of our posters.![]()
2009 AFL DraftFrankly, a 6 year/50 game AFL midfielder drafted as a top 10 pick should be dominating at SANFL level every week as a base standard expectation.
NahDon't be so flippant.
Would be taking Black every day of the week if there is no development in the KPF area here for the rest of the year. He was showing genuine signs of dominance throughout 2013, was curtailed through 2014 with injuries which affected his form. If someone can step up from within, great, but if the status quo continues we'd be stupid not to have a look.
Or we can keep living in this fantasy world where someone of the ilk of Hawkins is just going to walk over the border into our awaiting arms...
I see in the paper that several clubs, including Port Adelaide, are believed to be interested in the 192cm goal kicker..Aaron Black linked with Port in an article on fox sports. Is he worth looking at? 192cm, not sure what he's worth though and he is Western Australian.
