A breeze, except for LA county police chase and subsequent smash closing southbound highway whatever the fk it was.

Got to hotel at 10am local (3am Melbourne).

flipping LAX customs w***ers and their horrendous queues.

Most of the flight was a roller coaster of turbulence and **** I feel smashed without having touched a drink.
Yuck. I hate it.

Did you avoid this? Or was this your crash?

Flew from LAX back to Aust in 2011 and never felt turbulence like it, the wings should’ve snapped off.

Patty Mills was sitting next to me and he nearly turned white..

In a new city tonight and I've been told to beware of coyotes and mountain lions.

WTAF!
I looked this up - as many people die from lightning strikes in the US every year as have died from mountain lion attacks since the end of the civil war.

Coyotes might carry rabies but are unlikely to attack adult humans in a city.

Did you warn them about drop bears if they come to Australia?

Yes indeed, including the feral pigs that drink booze in NT pubs (was once a headline in The NT news), we all talk like Steve Irwin, punch on with kangaroos, call everyone a CLINT oh and Malibu house prices have nothing on Sydney harbour house prices.

When I went on a work visit to Sydney a couple of the blokes took me to a bar where they told me to beware of cougars. But I thought WTAF? Then I worked out that was the reason they actually went to that bar.

Forgot to add, a drunk from San Diego in my hotel was asking about Wolf Creek.

I told him there's still a few of those types on the run and hundreds of barrels were found. He sobered up very quickly.

Tell them about the Byron Bay serial killer.

I can't recall that.
But did reel off details about the Belanglo State Forrest murders.
Its something that's taken off a bit in the last few months.

I lived a fair way west of Byron, on the other side of the nightcap range and we had some mad campaigners living around there. We didn't really have to deal with much of that crap because our area had a reputation.

No one would **** with our part of the world the way they did with the areas closer to the coast. No home invasions looking for pot etc cos a few people tried that and ended up seriously ****ed up or dead. Some people tried to case the local shop once and ended up getting bashed while their car was burnt. Many years ago there was a commune thing that ended up full of junkies and other arseholes who just stole from and ripped off their neighbours constantly. They got chased out by people with whips and guns and their stuff got burnt.

Dunno about now but 25 years ago...

I know people, young women specifically, who used to hitchhike till they got kidnapped and had to stab their way to freedom or who ended up tied up by deviants on remote farmhouses for a year or who disappeared for days and turned up freaked out covered in cuts and bruises (mostly from running thru lantana) telling stories of escaping from guys who showed them the places they buried people in the hills between Nimbin and Byron.

Or 13 year olds who were abducted for weekends to be used at rape parties by redneck kids from Casino or a woman whose bodies were found tied up in the Nightcap covered in signs of torture.

We used to sit talk about being Dexter before Dexter was a thing with some of those situations but it never amounted to anything i know of. Some of the targets of our suspicians did disappear tho and I've always wondered what happened to them. I'm fairly sure killer of the girl who turned up dead in the Nightcap - an aboriginal girl whose sister is a well known actress - ended up dead but I couldn't say 100%. I know her family and local mob were very angry about it.
