Yep, was the first one that came to mind. I still remember opposition players actually running away from him when he had the ball because they knew he would give it straight back.

I'm surprised Patrick Steinfort (Richmond) hasn't been mentioned. He had 5 years at the club without managing a game, after being (I think) a 1st round draft pick in 1996.

And Simon Eastaugh another ruckman drafted in 89, I think had about 5 years at Richmond without playing. Went to the SANFL. Then 3 years for 17 games at the Bombers and 12 games in 2 years at Freo. I think all up he would have been on AFL lists for 10 years for 29 games.

Jake Spencer has just completed his ninth season with us. He has played just 36 games, and is re-signed for 2017. In a bizarre sort of way he's actually a valuable member of our squad, if Gawn goes down he's the only legitimate option we've got to cover him.

Five seasons with Sydney (2007-2011), a year in the SANFL with North Adelaide, then three seasons with North Melbourne (2013-2015), and a year with the Gold Coast (2016). Was always a main list played (never rookie listed), but didn't make his AFL debut until his 7th season on a list. Not contracted for next year, but was probably the Suns' best ruckman this year in the limited exposure he got, so might go around again next year.

I made a thread a long time ago called 'Players Who Missed Numerous Games Through Injury or Poor Form', which tries to document some of the great list-cloggers and injury-prone hangers-on the game has seen, but I haven't updated it in ages, and there's certainly a lot of names that could be added to it now.

One that always gets me is Dean Wallis. Played 127 of a possible 353 games (including finals) (35.98% of club games) in 15 seasons with Essendon (1987-2001). Played in two flags (1993, 2000), and was known for being a tough "enforcer", but never amassed 20 disposals in a single game, and it took beyond half way into his 13th season for his only 4 goal performance. Also had five separate seasons where he played two or less senior games (1990, 1994, 1995, 1998, 2001), and another three where he played less than 10 senior games (1989, 1991, 1993), and played more than 13 games in a season just twice (1999, 2000), in his 13th and 14th seasons. Bizarre career at senior level, to say the least. Would love to know how many games he racked up at Reserves level (or what major injuries he had that held him back), and what his form was like there, but obviously this info is nearly non-existent.

Isn't he a half decent tap ruckman too?

Luke Lowden will be hard to beat, just delisted after 8 years and 1 game, not sure why he couldn't put it together

I feel like he was only getting games this season to justify why they kept him on the list for the other six years. A very average footballer.

Tim Callan was around the Dogs and Cats a while but didn't play many games.

I remember watching Wayde Skipper kick 6 against the Hawks one Saturday afternoon in 05/06...all before half time I think.

Tom Lee has only played 17 games. Was on Adelaide's list in 2008 (didn't play a game)

Been on St Kildas list since 2013.

Solid average of 3.4 games a year

Stephen rowe was on Adelaides list for 5 years and managed 29 games but has had a long career being an idiot on Adelaide radio and is still going!

I'll put up Barry Brooks. A year at Port for no games, traded for a first and second round pick to the Saints where he played 8 games from 03-07. 6 seasons, 2 clubs, 8 games, all primary list.

Of our current crop, Mitch Brown just completed his 10th year on our list for 94 games.

Dean Wallis was on Essendon's list for a staggering 14 years and managed to pull together 127 games.

That's quite amazing cause I remember him being a very solid footballer. Must have been injury ravaged? He had a pretty uncompromising style so wouldn't shock me if he copped his share of injuries.
