Whether we look at FA's or not may depend on if anyone looks at Menzel..obviously if he suddenly went and we may get a very good comp pick in this years draft I doubt they would want to lose it. Excluding that.. , it would be smart to at least ask about a player that will cost no draft picks and only dollars and who probably would be best 22. Only 26 this time next year...

Correct. No one wanted Menz ..and for that matter noone Motlop one year ago either .(yes it would have been a trade)
Menzel kicks 4 , should have been 5 .. finishes the year with 50 goals a couple club may have a different approach.
Im not expecting anything , just saying that if we are presented with a situation thats unexpected , then it changes what we will do. It did last year with Motlop for sure

Menzel if he goes anywhere would be 1-2 year cheap deal = 3rd round compo which means we'd be happy to burn that pick to get another FA in.

I don't really see Jarrod Lyons as that bigger bodied mid. He's hard add it but he's not really offering more than what the club will expect from an experienced Parish/McGrath.

Given he's UFA he has to be outside their top 25 % salaries so you'd think probably no more than 500-550 currently.

The only more pressing need is an A grade key forward and we don't have the trade chips to get that done. Stacking the front half with good attacking players like Dahlhaus is a good strategy.

Depends. At 500k a year he makes us a better team. We get rid of GHS and stanley takes a pay cut for being shit then we are much better off without giving up draft picks

With the exception of Kelly those players are kids not ready to impact in a flag year and we are in the window, any player that can be improving our best 22 without giving up picks we should be looking at.

As for the rest:
Menzel is the medium forward
We can't get an A grade KPF with what we have hence A grade small forwards will do.
Blicavs is your key back as will be House within 12 months.
We have Tuohy Bews Stewart both Guthries and Thurlow to play HB it is not a need for us.
Rucks are fine with Smith unless you can get a truly elite one you are better off having a B- ruckman rather than trying to spend trade chips getting a B+ one as plenty of sides historically win flags with average rucks.
