Pickett has been charged by WA Police with four counts of aggravated burglary, with three counts of stealing and three counts of criminal damage among his other charges.
The alleged offences took place between December 2022 and January 2023.
Pickett has a “strong intent” to defend himself, his manager Anthony Van Der Wielen told 7NEWS in a statement.

Racist comments will immediately cop a long break from Bigfooty, discuss the issue not the skin colour or race.
Thank you.

P.S This thread has nothing to do with the Clarkson/Racism review discussion.
This thread is not the place to discuss the prison system and prisoner rehabilitation, you can take that to the SRP board.
This is the scandals and rumours board only, please stay on topic in here.

Given he's apparently denying the allegations, and given there is little information as things stand, we should probably wait for more information before we start condemning him.

Unfortunately the people who have spent the last four years mocking Pickett and refuse to believe someone can redeem themselves will be vindicated. Of course, there's something to be said about the failure of prisons to actually rehabilitate their inmates, but it's easier to put the sole blame on individuals than have a wider look at our society's failures.

Whether true or not, it's likely this is the end of his AFL career. Hopefully he can pull his life together once again.
You make your decisions that get you in there in the first place. Sadly as an adult he might’ve never changed or like other have said kept hanging around the wrong crowds.
Either way, for someone to get a crack at AFL and pissing it away for crime is pathetic.

That’s if he’s guilty of course
If he’s not, I suggest he still finds new mates

Noone of sound mind goes around committing burglaries, let alone those earning six figures annually. Surely more to this than sheer stupidity.
Javaris Crittenton was an honour student who decided that being drafted by the Lakers was the perfect opportunity to join the Crips. 18 months later Crittenton was involved in an infamous locker room incident with Washington Wizards teammate Gilbert Arenas and multiple guns. Another 18 months on and Crittenton was up on a murder charge. Who knows how some people's minds work?

Sadly some people just want to judge others immediately and aren’t interested in waiting for the person to go through the process Pickett is entitled to. Most reasonable people will hold judgement until he has had a chance ti be heard on the charges.

Bit surreal seeing a post from 6 hours ago…saddened by this news. Hoping it’s wrong, but feeling the worst atm…😔

They fact he earned a spot on an AFL list after a stint in Prison …suggests every opportunity & intention to rehabilitate?

I gonna go with the theory of a house invasion type thing, his dickhead mates collecting a debt and he went along and they've taken something as collateral on their way out. Does that kind of thing fill all the charges?

The cops clearly had to speak to him before charging, so no extradition applied for. They know he was only a tag along but he hasn't given up the info they wanted, hence now being thrown the book at.

Or something like that. He can't be this stupid again.

Jeeeesus mate. The bloke got out of prison, went on to premiership glory and big bucks…what more should the prison have done? Be specific now.

Police statement says its commercial properties. Can certainly still be dickhead mates etc, but doesn't appear to be anyone's house

That’s what I think. He was either a tag along (yeh we just collecting from some people who owe us), maybe weed, or some beef with some ex gf or ex mate. People thinking he going into steal TVs and shieet. Cmon fellas.

This is what happens when you have s**t mates, cos there's no way in hell an AFL listed player decides they're gonna go on a burglary spree on a whim when you're spending the off season at home.

Yeh, coz he’s as pure as the driven snow. Surely not seriously absolving him of his involvement if it turns out he was involved.

Do we know if he knew about these charges beforehand?

Why go to Perth if it's all hanging over your head?
