Multiplat Mass Effect: Andromeda

At around level 30 I suddenly became ridiculously overpowered. Level V gear combined with a few maxed out biotic skills means that I basically don't use guns any more. Earlier today I was tossing raiders a good 100m away with my biotic throw. Also have a mod on one of my armor pieces that reduces cooldown by 50%, which combined with a few other perks, means that my cooldown for most moves is a couple of seconds.

Been avoiding this thread as I am halfway through the game.

Like it so far. Bit grindy in regards to planet viability.

Better than ME1.

seriously getting annoyed at bugged quests not turning in. up to level 37

companion mission
just found the asari ark for cora kept the pathfinder as pathfinder even though she was annoying

Finally hit start on this bad boy.

Got 10 mins into the game (twice) and realised I wasn't happy with my character appearance. Half an hour later and I'm set.

25 tattoo options, but fewer options in places I'd like was frustrating.

That little gripe aside, everything looks amazing, and the music/sound effects are on point.

Please be good. Please be good.

I have fallen asleep with the controller in my hand literally 3 times playing this game late at night.

I've played nearly 10 hours and i reckon combat has been about 10% of that. Like it, but man they have gone ott with the dialogue

I did the same with that companion mission. The alternative was far too inexperienced.

I just go with the default or randomly generate [emoji18] Not much bores me more than character creation

Enjoying it alot at the moment. The criticism of the animation is very harsh in my view. There's a few weird moments but mostly it's fine. The sloppiest bit is when you talk to a NPC that's not part of a cutscene. Looks very average

I think a lot of the criticism came from reviewing pre release copies, i haven't noticed too many flat out terrible instances of lip sync issues.

As per the heavy dialogue thing, i just force myself to break it up. In rpg's I usually like to exhaust all options when i explore a location, talk to everyone, get every mission. But it's just overwhelming to do that in this game. You just get numbed by conversations, and the mission list gets soooo long (and is arranged in the most convoluted way possible with stupid categories)

I recommend grabbing a few missions via dialogue, clearing them, then start hunting for more. Breaks up the talky talk

I start listening then X through the dialogue to get the mission whatever

Surprised there's so much positivity here... Most ME fans I've spoken to think this is an abomination.
People on the internet are generally whiny campaigners. Of course i hate not being able to control my squad, but once you come to grips with combat system it actually flows pretty well. And the story and world is solid and immersive.

Not the best Mass effect game, but way better than a lot of the shit out there. Its an 8/10

haha exactly what i do.

XXXXX

Mission

Currently doing everything i can on the Jungle angara planet and really enjoying it. Toyed with being an engineer at the start but have reverted to pure biotic

It falls short in a number of ways but the combat is a lot of fun and I'd argue the best in the series.

I also haven't come across too many technical issues. In almost 60 hours of playtime I've had minimal animation issues or glitches. Most of the existing issues will be patched out anyway - so anyone who begins the game in a month or two won't have much to complain about.

My biggest issue with the game was a lack of control over your squad and the fact that the four main response types only lead to slight variations during discussions (usually professional versus smartarse). There is also too many missions that really don't add to the experience - this was a similar problem to Dragon Age: Inquisition.

From my perspective this game is definitely one of those games that has been reviewed harshly and the internet has escalated the situation. It's not a polished game but it also isn't a bad or even average game.

I've always gone Solider first play through with ME games

I did get a bit of Garrus nostalgia when you rescue the Turians

Its certainly not as bad as some of the vitriol (mainly from people who haven't played it) would have you believe but I also think the criticism in a lot of the reviews is justified. The facial animations are every bit as bad as made out and I found it quite jarring at first but you quickly accept it and move on. The UI is awful and I hit one particular gamebreaking bug barely 10 hours in.

When you exit the first vault on Eos, its possible to go back in and the previous cutscenes will replay as before except PeeBee isn't there so Ryder is just talking to himself. You then drop down into the hole with no possible way of getting out. Had to reload an old save to get past it.

I've got enough to play at the moment that I don't mind parking this until its been tidied up in a few patches, but there's been enough to like about the combat/story etc that I'll definitely come back to it at some point.

Yeah i had a bug on eos where i had no idea how to operate the remnant console. I put in the wrong code and got locked out...only for it not to reset so i couldn't try again.

I saved, hard reset the game, loaded that save and it was fine.

I also really miss the paragon/renegade options in speech but it is what it is.

Man I don't remember scanning planets being this tedious in the previous games. So much time spent watching the transition screens

I'm glad that's one of the first things getting sorted in the next patch.

Does look lovely and I enjoyed my first few outer space trips... but yeah it wears out its welcome pretty quick.

I've got no idea what convo option means what. Only one that's easy to figure is the heart one.

My scanning face is tired

It tells you once at the start when you have your first conversation... but I haven't seen it since so I'm in the same boat
