Incorrect. McEvoy is very good at getting back across half back and taking marks or at worst create a contest. He is more than capable around the ground and while not being quick he has elite endurance. His ruckwork is good without being fantastic but has far more strings to his bow. Goldstein can win tapouts then has nothing thats why hes in the twos this week.

The first half is fair. He does well filling a hole in defence.

The second half is rubbish. Goldstein is probably only behind Naitanui, Ryder and Mumford for his work at ground level (both tackling and fantastic vision by hand).

The simplistic view of him being dropped must mean he is no good around the ground?

It's a given he is off to slow start this season. But if you wanna give an opinion on a player, actually watch some footy first instead of looking at stats.

Could say the same about the comments about McEvoy. Depends what you want as a ruckman. For me I will go with the McEvoy model as other than Cox back in 2006 every premiership team has had a number one ruckman that plays the same role. Goldstein types just dont get the job done when the big games are on.

Leuenberger I know has had injury concerns as well, but Sandi has seriously struggled for hit outs to advantage. He might win his fair share of taps, but the effectiveness is well down, even going so far as to tapping it to the opposition. Makes it very tough for Freo's mids.

I haven't seen much of Golstein this year and he must not be going well since he got dropped but from what I saw last year he is a very good player and a class above McEvoy

Goldstein was a gun last year and once his confidence returns he will get to that level again.

Mcevoy is a good honest goer but I think Goldy is a bit more than that.

I think people are reading too much into Goldy being dropped. If we were playing anyone other than GC he would have played. The 2 rucks (Goldy and HMac) haven't set the world on fire and I'm assuming Brad Scott was playing with structures (he did this with other positions around the ground) and wanted to see how Hamish handled the job on his own.

Taking GC lightly almost bit him on the bum I'd think Goldy will be back in the team against WCE esp having Nic Nat and Cox.

Goldy has shown alot more than McEvoy this far and that's all I can vote on!!

Going against the grain here, but I just see McEvoy as the better long term prospect and more likely to impose himself around the ground.
